Excellent except what everyone says about the small hood

This is an excellent quality rain jacket for a toddler. The inside is lined with soft terrycloth, and the outside is waterproof without being stiff or noisy. I much prefer the zip of this jacket to other jackets that have snaps. The pockets are well placed and easy for a toddler to use. I bought it quite large to give us a long lifespan, and I just fold the sleeves up. As many other reviewers note, the hood is disproportionately small. Perhaps it's good that it's not too deep -- it doesn't flop into my child's face. But it is also short. If the jacket were not 1-2 sizes bigger than he currently wears, when the hood is up, it clearly would pull up the shoulders of the jacket. He's not very tolerant of hoods anyway, though, so this is not a dealbreaker for us.

Hood too small

This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately the hood is way too small. My child has a head circumference of 20 inches, and it is 13 inches long from nape of neck to front/top of hairline. This hood barely reaches her forehead, and when I try to pull it forward, it pulls the fabric on her shoulders. I have included images of measurements. Besides the hood, the jacket is very well made and fits great in all other areas. I’m sad it didn’t work for us.

White Color Came Off of Color Changing Raincoat

I normally love Hatley raincoats. This one (blue) has only been worn a handful of times and the white has come off of the color changing raincoat in spots. My son loved this raincoat but will not wear it anymore because it looks strange. We have had the color changing raincoats before and have never had this issue. **** I had contacted Hatley for assistance and after some back and forth I was told to contact Amazon. So no more Hatley purchases for my family.

Lovely fit but check Hatley's site to ensure you buy the right size.

My son is tall for an 8 year old so I checked the Hatley site to get their age grouping measurements based on height. I ordered an age 10 and it fits really well. Delighted with the colour and lining. I suspect this will be the last Hatley jacket he'll have sadly. We'll have to move onto the boring navy or black options from other clothing providers. Sadly manufacturers seem to think that boys should only wear navy, black, grey or white.
