Very good VERY light rain jacket

This is a great price for a Helly Hansen jacket. I love the jacket. It is very thin and packable. It is also waterproof, but I wouldn’t use it as a heavy weather jacket on the boat, I use it for light rain days. I wear it all the time though, it has become a go to on messy days. It looks good and the color is great. I took one star off because the Helly Hansen logo is cheap looking. This is not the super premium you get with other more expensive Helly Hansen clothing but for the price they charge for this one you have to expect that.

Great rain jacket for active pursuits

This is my second HH Loke jacket. I have one that I use for hiking/walking during the winter on rainy days. I bought another for casual wear. It doesn't get very cold where I live (mid-40s on the coldest days) and this jacket with a warm shirt underneath if necessary keeps me warm and dry. I did a 2-hr hike/run in moderate rain; for instance, and I only got slightly wet when I was overheating near the end of the workout and unzipped the top of the jacket, but that was not the jacket's fault. The pit zips are really nice if you're working out and the main zipper works well for venting. You have to be careful with the pocket zippers so that you don't catch the nearby fabric, but I'm not usually zipping and unzipping the pockets a lot. Other than that, the jacket seems very waterproof and sturdy. I usually wear a small jacket, and sometimes a medium, and I wear a medium in this jacket. HH jackets tend to fit small, and this one is no exception. The sleeves in the medium are a little long, but otherwise it fits well. With the velcro on the sleeves, the extra length isn't a problem.

Packable!

Not what I expected. I received wrong color. Jacket is and does what it says. In all regards. I will say extremely thin and light. Ideal for True Backpack camping. Was looking for heavier and a different color.

Fantastic outer shell

I am very pleased with the style and function of the jacket. It is fully waterproof and keeps the wind out. Went on a steep hike at Devil's Lake (WI) on a windy day with some drizzle and it performed great. The hood is excellent; when up, it doesn't block your sight. The fit is great. I am 6' 2" 195 lbs, (bought a large) and I have room for a sweatshirt underneath, but the jacket is not baggy. It doesn't provide any insulation, but that makes it a better option for warmer temperatures. The armpit zippers are easy to zip/unzip and help vent excess heat. The bungee cinch at the waist gives it a nice look; not sloppy. If you need a waterproof shell and want to keep the price under $70, I would recommend it

Not windproof

Bought this jacket to keep my dry and warm in winter months but it’s not windproof and it’s cold when you wear it out I would not recommend this coat at all very dissapointed

Poor quality

**edit 6Jam23 Returned as zip broke on pocket. Will get an alternative coat. Use when walking the dog. Wanted something light and water proof. It is very thin but I am ok with this. The pocket zippers often get stuck, but might be me! It’s not breathable so if you get too warm it will get wet inside!

Ausgesprochen effektiv (auch der Klettverschluss)

Die Qualität von Helly Hansen hat mich bereits an verschiedenen Stellen überzeugt. Gerade nach einem Urlaub mit Wanderung in Bergen – der regenreichsten Stadt Europas (?) – habe ich noch einmal aufgestockt (leider war das die falsche Reihenfolge). Der Zuwachs einer neuen Regenjacke und Regenhose hat sich gelohnt, denn so bin ich tatsächlich schon trocken geblieben, wo meine andere Ausrüstung vorher versagt hätte. Regendichtigkeit top. Das Ganze geht aber nicht so sehr auf die Atmungsaktivität, wie ich es befürchtet hatte. Bis zu einem gewissen Grad hilft die Jacke perfekt. Kritisch wird es nur, wenn man im Trockenen mit der Jacke bei etwas zu hohen Temperaturen laufen geht, denn dann fehlt jeglicher Wind, der auch einmal an einem steileren Berg für Abkühlung sorgen würde. Schnell zeigt sich dann die Feuchtigkeit auf der bloßen Haut (nicht so bei T-Shirts oder langen Ärmeln, das funktioniert erstaunlich gut). Sobald einmal Flüssigkeit zwischen Jacke und Haut zu finden ist, ist es dann zumindest vorübergehend vorbei, aber auch das gibt sich im Vergleich mit günstigeren Produkten (die dazu noch bei Nässe versagt hatten) angemessen schnell wieder (aber es ist natürlich noch immer relativ wasserundurchlässiger Kunststoff und kein Baumwoll-T-Shirt). Worauf ich nicht geachtet habe und was ich mir bei jeder Jacke immer und immer wieder vornehme: die Jacke verfügt über Klettverschlüsse und zwar in einer Form, die überragend hält – sowohl da, wo sie halten soll, als auch da, wo sie Kleidung zerstört. Ich bin daher dazu übergegangen, dass ich die Jacke vorne geschlossen immer nur über den Kopf ziehe anstatt sie zu öffnen (das verstärkt den Effekt von oben natürlich zu meinen Ungunsten beim Tragen). Das funktioniert super, wenn man normalerweise zwischen zwei Größen liegt und sich für die größere Größe entscheidet. Sicher ist: die Jacke erfüllt zu 100 % ihren Zweck, vor Regen zu schützen, und sie ist zwar nach wie vor nicht 100% atmungsaktiv wie ein Fließ oder ähnliches, aber sie lässt deutlich mehr Flüssigkeit durch Verdunstung heraus, als andere Produkte und zugleich ist sie wirklich wasserdicht. Die Kapuze ist dabei relativ klein, aber nicht zu klein, sodass sie auch bei Wind vernünftig sitzt ohne die Sicht gefährlich einzuschränken, was gerade dort spannend wird, wo auch einmal Autos oder Fahrräder unterwegs sind und man diese nicht erst bemerkt, wenn es eigentlich schon zu spät ist.

Really nice.

I like this jacket so far.. Very nice colour and it's VERY THIN.. Which is what I wanted... I wore it yesterday shopping.. It was raining and fairly chilly out, about 6 degrees Celsius,i was kinda cold, but, that is what I wanted ... It is a very very very thin jacket that won't keep you warm really but also will not over heat you.. It's gonna be great in the summer when it gets warmer.. Love the zipper vents that open under arms as well.. I'm 6 ft tall and 190 lbs I ordered extra large and it's just a smidgen to big for my liking but I like things to loosely fit more than tightly..
