Getting a Handle on It

The main problem I had was that the handle for the spindle crank was missing. I carefully rechecked the packaging, but it was nowhere to be found. Fortunately, I'm a hobby machinist, so I was able to manufacture a replacement handle on my lathe from some scrap steel and aluminum round stock (see photos 1-3). For those who have a similar problem, the threads where the handle attaches to the spindle crank is M6, 1.0, so you'll need a set of metric threading dies to thread the new handle pin. Even with a proper handle, the spindle was very difficult to turn. Based on past experience with Chinese-made equipment, I suspected that the problem due to dirt and grinding dust in the spindle. I disassembled the spindle and cleaned the spindle body and shaft with WD-40 and shop towels (see photo 4). I oiled the spindle with way oil, reassembled it, and it now turns smoothly. Other than this I was satisfied.

There was a little bit of clean up.

I did have to take it apart as others mentioned, and the runout is as advertised. However, this purchase was with the understanding of there being a 5C under the ER32 according to the reviews. I have been unable to remove the ER32 adapter if any. If someone could direct me into how it was removed it would be much appreciated. But the indexer is as advertised and has worked very well. 3 stars for the indexer. Deburring cleaning and Amazon's amazing packaging service is another star off. But will update if I have any luck with removing the adapter. I would recommend this.

Not blue as pictured, but functional nonetheless

I am modifying my spindexer to hold endmills while sharpening them. I think it will work well once I am finished.

Standard item from China. Needs cleaned thoroughly. The run out was as advertised .0005. (After cleaning) All of the flat surfaces are incredibly rough and I will have to re-grind them. They seem to be flat though. This is a standard indexer with a ER 32 adapter there is a 5C taper under it

Decent product. Good value for the price.

Good product. Nice to be able to use 5c collets as well as er32. Has slight runout. About one thousandth but should be acceptable for what I’m using it for.
