Replacement cord
After the cat chewed up the cord for both lamps I thought I’d have to trash the lamps. This cord replaced what we had and is also thicker than the original lamp cords. Love it. Now we can use our lamps again

Delay
I got these to replace 1amp oem versions for under cabinet led lights. These take a full 2 seconds before the lights come on. Very weird. My home automations aren’t very useful if I’m waiting for them to work.

It's OK to switch the OUTPUT
Do you hate how dark it is inside your hall closet? I did, and I solved the problem by installing a Hitlights LS3528_WW_WP warm white LED strip all around the inside of the door frame, with this "transformer" plugged into the handy duplex outlet provided in the closet for the doorbell. (For technical folk: I put "transformer" in quotes because it's not really a transformer -- it's a universal-input, switching-type AC-DC power supply.) Yes, it does get warmer than I'd like in continuous operation, but I intended to use a door switch to turn the lights on only for the brief periods when the closet door is open. For safety and code-compliance reasons, I preferred not to switch the AC power to the transformer, so I had to evaluate the behavior of the transformer with the door switch in series with the low-voltage output. I plugged it into my Kill-a-Watt (get one, you'll love it) and was pleased to discover that with the output disconnected the transformer draws essentially zero power, so obviously it stays dead cool. The output voltage remained stable as I switched the LEDs on and off, and I concluded that switching the output was practical. I used an automotive-grade microswitch (similar to asin B0029N2S88) because of its high current rating at low voltage. I expect that the lower-cost item identified by another reviewer(asin B007TGO3HO) would behave similarly, but I have not tested it. A suggestion to Hitlights: Market a packaged adhesive-mount door switch, with matching barrel connectors, for cabinets, closets, safes, etc.!

Slow start up
Takes about 3 seconds longer to turn on than my other kitchen LED strip transformer.

Good build quality, No coil whine, UL Listed (Double checked myself), Doesn't get unbearably hot.
Product purchased: Hitlights 60w 12V 5A Power Transformer Something to note beforehand. I have been buying other power transformers from other sellers here on amazon, All of them were not UL listed. Until I almost had a fire from the last transformer I had bought from a "shall not be named" seller / manufacturer who's product would get very very hot during normal use etc. Well this Hitlights transformer hasn't even gotten CLOSE to hot. At most it's been slightly more than room temperature. ZERO coil whine, Which is getting harder to find these days - Trust me I've bought enough of these things. I knew from the moment I picked it up that it was better quality simply from the weight of the device alone. Significantly heavier than the other "shant be named" brand but not a nuisance. TL;DR: Good build quality, No coil whine, UL Listed (Double checked myself), Doesn't get unbearably hot. Will post back if this unit ever has any issues as well as how the seller handles it. Might have to crack this baby open just to view its internals to compare it to the other one I've still got lying around. Though it'd be a shame to ruin the shell. :)

Doesn't work with Dimmer
This Driver doesn't work with Dimmer switches. The details are wrong. I know I'm the Electrician who installed this one for a Customer. You have to have a driver that has dimming compatibility or is doesn't work.

Having been in electronics all my life nothing good ever comes from a power supply supplying 4
Replaced the original power supply (12V @ 5A) for my under cabinet LED lights. At maximum brightness the current draw was around 4.8 amps. Having been in electronics all my life nothing good ever comes from a power supply supplying 4.8 amps from a 5 amp "rated" power supply. That original one always ran hot and was electrically noisy (I am a licensed amateur radio operator). When the old one failed I took the case off to see "under the hood". I have not seen such a poorly assembled unit in a long time. Board traces cut and parts spliced suspended by their leads. Overheating evident on the circuit board. Now to be fair I have not taken this unit apart but it is rated at 8 amps and so runs much cooler and is electrically quieter. So for now I would give this a thumbs up and to remind people not to load your power supply to the max and expect long life.

Power adapter with no LED, very short cords
Since Amazon groups all reviews together I'm stating that I reviewed the 60W 12V DC power adapter. The model # on the one I bought was JY60-120-500. The main benefit is that the adapter is UL listed so hopefully it wouldn't burn your house down. If the UL file number on the label can be trusted the manufacturer is DONGGUAN JIAYI ELETRIC CO LTD. The label ratings are: OUTPUT 12VDC @ 5A, INPUT 100-240VAC 1.1A. By the way, it is perfectly acceptable to power a smaller rated device with this 5 amp adapter. That is, if you have a 2 amp device it will work fine when powered with a 5 amp adapter. However the reverse is not OK (powering a 5 amp device from a 2 amp adapter!). I like to overspec adapters so they have some extra margin - you wouldn't really want to power a 5 amp device from a 5 amp adapter. The business end of the adapter is a 5.5mm (Outer diameter) x 2.1mm (Inner diameter) plug, center pin positive. THE GOOD: + Hopefully this is indeed a UL listed adapter and not a non-UL adapter with a fake label (you never know). + The power input cord is a 2-prong cord. THE BAD: - Both the input & output power cords are too short! Each one is a miserly 2 feet in length which is very short. - There is no power LED so you can visually see if the adapter is powered. OVERALL, it is overpriced especially considering the cord length and lack of power LED. If I find a better UL-listed adapter I will update this (if you find one before I do leave a comment, especially if you find one with long cords). I hope you have found this review helpful.

Great electric converter
This is a great converter that I have used for some LED strip lighting under my kitchen cabinets, I needed a much lower power supply as the limit is smaller the LED lights so this was perfect for the job. I like that it does not overheat. Well made and good quality!
