The media could not be loaded. This may be a bit premature (received item 3/29/14) as I've read of issues with neon lighting life. That said I think that over all the clock looks and operates like a more expensive model. The product description listed is completely accurate if the neon in fact doe's have a long life. Time will tell. One thing I think is important to note. In the product photos it looks as though there may be a back light behind the clock face (note the blue glow) which is not the case and no where is there any mention that the outer ring on all of these models (not just the purple) flashes when the chain switch is pulled a second time. I personally had hoped it would turn off the inside white ring for a mood setting glow instead of being more like an advertising marquee for a cocktail lounge, but that's just me.

Extremely happy with this neon clock!

I purchased this neon clock about three years ago. Why write a review now? I want people to know that it still operates perfectly after all these years. I have seen a number of one-starred reviews that call this neon clock a piece of junk. Well, that is not my experience. Besides a bright glowing purple neon halo, this clock also illuminates the clock face with a white light, so that you can tell what time it is from a distance. I have another neon clock whose face is dark, which requires that I walk across the room to tell the time. This is a sturdy, well-designed neon clock that I would buy again in a heartbeat.

So disappointed.

Absolutely loved this clock but here we are 6 mos later and the neon lights have died. So, so disappointed.

Nice clock

Cute clock, works as expected. You have to pull down fairly hard to get the neon light on so be sure it’s really secure to the wall when you hang it. I ordered the purple one but got green instead. It had “purple” on the box when it arrived so I didn’t bother looking inside the box before wrapping it as a gift. that was my only issue

Cool neon colors & choice of blinking or solid

I have 4 neon clocks now. So excited that it comes in purple , it is now i have purple, pink & green & blue. No more room in my house for the orange & yellow colors. I like how you can pull the chain once to blink, & twice for solid. They all are super cool clocks. It was hard to decide which color i liked best.

Wrong Color

To be fair, I can not speak to the operation of this clock as they sent me the same clock twice and twice the color I ordered was wrong. I sent them both back. The base looks like chrome but is plastic. It's lightweight tho.
