Install Info you need to know

Product does the job but you will need a 9/16 drill bit for the tube portion. Drill the horizontal hole larger than the gear pin and a bit longer than the pin. The screws are too long and hit the vertical tube if you want the trim plate vertical. Use short screws and tip with paint. The throw bolt is 1/2” but use the 9/16 bit to give you some room to adjust the metal plate at the door frame head.

Good value for the cost

Great black finish and very easy to install. Did have to cut down the stem on the turning handle because it was too long for the thickness of the door, but this was easy to do with a multi-tool.

No instructions or template

The product itself is of good quality. In the past, however, when I purchased a device of this nature it included instructions and in some cases a template for installation. This device had neither.

Works well, but lacking in quality.

I purchased this to replace a similarly sized unit that was broken in my home. The product fit well, but I was surprised at the quality of the mechanism (plastic) within the unit. I ended up taking this one apart and salvaging the mechanism from the broken unit (all metal), to make a hybrid. It works perfectly well, but the quality of the fabrication leaves something to be desired.

good quality

This is a nice lock. I got a similar one from build.com and it was flimsy compared to this one. The bolt mechanism on this one was much more robust and smooth in operation. A+

Broke

No installation template so very hard to line up holes. Then the knob broke off after less than 2 years of very light use.

Not as strong as I would have liked. But it gets the job done
