Definitely Saves Me Money When It's Hot Out
I have a metal roof with soffit vents and 2 new whirlybirds across the top of my roof. It worked fine except when it's really hot out. I ended up adding this to one end of my attic where there's no tree shade at all just so it will run when the sun is beating down and the temp setting is at 95 degrees in the attic. This easily helped drop my bill $10-20 a month. I went thru my electric/heating bill for the last 3 years to make sure I was comparing it to months where the average temps outside were the same in order to make sure it was making a difference. For the price and the 15 year warranty it has, it was an easy purchase to make. If I ever go to replace my whirlybirds, I'm replacing them with 2 more of these and getting the hybrid power supply. Highly recommend

Quiet & Effective, (but improvement needed)
Easy to install, but improvements are needed. The instructions need simplification and correction - this is not a "heater". There are 2 ways to install this. Either on top of your 14 inch roof jack (after removing the whirlybird rotating top piece) or you must cut a 14" hole in your roof and use the included sheetmetal, non-adjustable roof jack. Unfortunately, this product is actually 14 1/2 inches across, NOT 14 inches as advertised. It should be 14 1/8" to easily slide over an existing 14 inch roof jack. Because this fan is 1/2 inch too big, it needs flashing or tape to fill the air gap or it will be pulling outside, not attic air. See my picture. Note that once this is mounted, you have no access to the thermostat or off/on switch. Bad design. Some kind of access from outside would allow customer adjustment of the controls. There is a low voltage plug that just hangs down inside the fan unless you tie wrap it out of the way. To save money, it would be good to have a model that does not come with the included non-adjustable roof jack. The directional adjustments for the solar cell are excellent and easy to fine tune toward the sun. The fan is very quiet and that is appreciated. I hope the fan lasts a long time. You can feel the hot air being exhausted with your hand in our hot California sun.

No critter guard
This product is almost a complete knock off the the QuietCool solar fan but has two main differences. Truth told I already have two QuietCool fans and they are working great but I have been unable to source/find a third. This ILiving fan has the added benefit of adding an adjustable thermostat which is a really nice feature but it does not come with a critter guard/screen. This could be a huge problem for bees and any other smaller sized critter looking to invade your attic.

Works well
Watch a few installation videos to build up your confidence and just go for it. I have very little handyman skills and I was able to get this in with a little help from my father in law (supervisor). Try and get the panel positioned so that when it’s raised it’s almost flat pointed N or S, not E or W (otherwise the sun will not hit the solar panel and the fan will turn off even when there’s still a little hot late afternoon sun)

14” solar attic fan… not impressed
The second any bit of cloud coverage this thing loses power. I mean I even put my hand over the solar panel and the fan lost it’s power. Not to mention this thing is not Doing 1750 CFM!!! Pretty disappointed… oh and I was supposed to get in 2 days… and it showed up 5 days later! Why do I pay for prime if it isn’t going to show up when it’s suppose to…

Great product.
Installed two of these on my roof. My house is a 3,000 sqft single story home in Central U.S. it was 105 outside and 177 in the attic before installing. Yesterday it was 107 outside and 120 in the attic after installing.

A much needed attic cooling system
This solar attic fan is the greatest. Two metal bars allow you to change the angle of the solar panel for low, medium or high pitch roofs. The built-in thermostat allow adjustment of temperature for when the fan kicks in. This will be our second solar fan. We installed one on the garage a few years back and it not only cools the attic but it saves the asphalt shingles from overheating.

Good product.
It was easy enough to install. Plugged it in, and it has a setting for what temperature you want it to kick in at. Lowered the temperature in the attic by around 5 degrees celcius.

Works well on sunny days even in the cold *Update* quite working after only 8 months of use.
Solar power panels work well running the fan on sunny days even in the cold winter months of Alberta Canada. On a cloudy day however it only runs at about 1/4 the speed. I bought this fan to not only remove the heat of the summer months but to keep the attic cold and humidity free as our climate is dry particularly in the winter. *UPDATE* quit working after only 8months of use. The fan no longer works even in direct sunlight. Junk product.

Poor Quality and Service
The quality of this product is poor and from what I can tell it will be quite loud, it doesn't even come with all the parts you need, it even arrived late. The iLiving wasn't helpful but rather diverted me to purchase adapters to even get this product going. Going to return the product.

For the 14" solar fan, not any exhaust fans
Installed this fan in the spring. Absolute garbage! The smallest cloud blocks the solar panel on a hot day and the fan barely turns, and makes a horrible howl noise. Asked for warranty, but the company advised they would give me a discount on a second one. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE!
