Wonderful! Better than my Chi!

I bought this based on the reviews and couldn't be happier! It heats up quickly, holds its temperature, is comfortable to hold and use and gets good and hot! It works better than my professional Chi flat iron and is a fraction of the price. I liked it so much I bought a second one. It is a few months in now with regular use at least 3x a week and is going strong. Good purchase!

Get it Sis!

The media could not be loaded. So in the photo at a festival I used a cheap beauty store flat iron and my hair frizzed up in less than one hour! For context, I have 4C hair and use products like Olaplex #6, chi iron guard and chi silk. I used this flat iron yesterday and first off!: my hair was straighter than ever before! Also, the video and photo is after I WENT TO THE GYM YALL!

I love it I don’t know why people complain about it ! It works great , took about 30 min to finish doing my curls it gets hot really fast but if you don’t want to burn your hair just don’t put it too high and let it stay there for a while cuz if u do that your obviously going to burn your hair so be smart and just set up maximum on the 20 temp. I didn’t take any pictures when I finished doing my hair but I took some after 6 hours and they definitely lasted and my hair looked more then great so this is a must have !

I bought this to have a cheap, functioning flat iron at my boyfriend's house so I didn't have to schlep mine back and forth all of the time (and risk forgetting it as I have done in the past!) I have been using flat irons for close to 20 years now, and this one is amazing! I was stunned by how well it worked, so much so that I had to come here to write a review--something I rarely do. I have very coarse, dense, wavy hair, but this iron straightens quickly. Don't let the price tag fool you! The results last longer than the $200 iron I got for Christmas six years ago, although it might also be that one is on its way out and it is no longer functioning at full capacity. I really can't recall. :P One of the reasons I decided on this iron over others on Amazon is that it has the automatic shut-off feature. While I rarely forget to turn off my iron, I have left my old one on at home before. Because of that, some mornings I go into work wondering if I actually did turn it off! It is nice to have the piece of mind knowing that I'm not going to unintentionally burn the place down! I went with the 1-inch iron for two reasons. I have always used a 1-inch. It might take a little longer but gives better precision styling and curling, in my unprofessional opinion. Also, I LOVE the purple! I have not used the sample oil that came with the iron. I appreciate it was included, but right now I'm all about the keratin treatment I discovered at Walmart (It's A 10 Miracle Leave-In Plus Keratin). Highly recommend for hair like mine. I bought this to be my backup iron, but I've decided to swap it out to by my main iron at home and bring my old one to my boyfriend's place. That's how much I love it! One little caveat to my review--I just got this iron and have only used it twice. I have no idea how long it will last. Like many lower-priced products, they don't tend to last as long, but as I mentioned with my $200 iron that is six years old, I have a feeling these things need to be replaced every few years with heavy use anyway. I hope this review helped! Enjoy this great steal. I know I am. :D

Works excellently for both straightening and curling!

I've been around the block with straighteners over the years, having tried them all I no longer pay any heed to the long litany of descriptors attached to them. Ceramic, ceramic tourmaline, tourmaline ceramic, jade, ruby, pearl and what not!! It's plates that heat up and melt the dead protein on your head. Buy from a reputable brand with a good long warranty and you're all set. Having said that, I have been very impressed with this set, really does heat up in seconds as advertised, does not snag at all (glides through hair so smoothly that the first time I used it I was convinced the plates were defective and were simply letting my hair slide free! :D) I set the heat at 15 and that does the trick for my normal hair, only takes a couple passes to get a satiny smooth look. It's a superb straightener, but an even better curler, I just twirled it through my hair just now so I could add demo pics to this review. It curled the ends of my hair in seconds with even less heat than it took to straighten it, vintage barrel curls here I come!! Available in attractive colours, nice long swiveling cord, long curved barrel that's perfect for curling, auto shut-off and light weight. It has all the features of much more expensive models including a floating plate for a reasonable price. All this plus a 5 year warranty makes this a very good buy in my book.

Great...while it lasted

If I've learned anything from my wife regarding purchasing products, quality and durability are some of the most important factors. unfortunately, after roughly 2 years of use, the chord gave out, frayed, and ultimately broke the straightener. I've used Conair products before, and recently purchased a defuzzer off Amazon, so I like the brand. Unfortunately, this product just didn't meet my expectations of longevity. Perhaps my wife could have taken better care of it, but it should sustain daily use.

it’s alright for the price

I purchased this knowing that it isn’t a high end straightener. I’ve had expensive ones in the past, but I’m now that I’m older I don’t spend as much time on flat ironing my hair so I decided to buy one of these. Conair was my choice over a no name flat iron from China. The iron does heat up fast and glides through the hair nicely. Easy to curl and hold in your hand. I’m giving it 4 stars because it is very light. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I hope the weight doesn’t determine it’s quality, I have yet to find out. Overall, not bad for $40.

One of best straighteners I've owned

Great product! Only reason I gave 4 stars is because it would have been nice to have a carry pouch and/or the feature that can lock the plates together when not in use.

Es una buena placha, pero no fabulosa.

Esperaba le diera mas brillo al cabello por la infusión de argán, pero eso no paso. Aun que traía de regalo una pequeña botella de aceite de argán, lo cual agradezco y me gusto. En cuanto a la funcionalidad, se calienta rápido, se puede controlar la temperatura. El estilizado dura bastante y no me cuesta trabajo darle al cabello la forma que desea. Pero siento que no da mucho brillo o forma al cabello.
