Would never know it is imported.
I am rarely if ever compelled to write reviews. However, this boot deserves it. I needed a pair of field boots for fall hunting and general yard work and my old steel toes were shot. I shopped online for looking at several moc toe and smooth toe boots. I cannot justify $290 for USA Red Wings, or anything USA anymore (except LL Bean Maine boots... still the best made in USA deal out there..), so I accepted the fact that I would be buying something imported. I found a pair of Cabela's hunting boots on sale which I bought, then decided to pull the trigger on these as well. They arrived at the same time so I could do a side by side comparison. Two different animals, the Cabela's was more of a waterproof, winterized boot 9-10' tall, while the Wingshooter are 7", lined but not necessarily for winter. The Cabela boot was ok, but definitely has that "imported" faking it feel... especially in the bottom sole. As soon as I put the Irish Setters on, it was like stepping back in time. Yes, they are imported, but you would never know it. Feels like old USA boots used to feel. Excellent soles... fit was perfect for my wide duck feet (12EE)... and it felt broken in right from the get go. And they look good to. The Cabela's are boxed up and ready to return. I think I will buy another pair of Wingshooter's now just for price guarding, and I NEVER do that. They will get field tested hard next month on a week long backwoods deer hunt in Maine, but everything I have seen so far tells me they will be perfect. So I am back and adding to my original review. Best boots I have ever owned Period. I hunt in them. Work in them. Walk the dog for miles through woods and fields. Love them and the fact that Red Wing will refurbish them when needed just adds to the value. Second update. I just. bought my second pair of these Actually I bought the 808 9" version but sent them back as they were just too high on the shin, and uncomfortable to me. Exchanged for 12EE 7" pair like I had bought 2 years ago. Something was different. They were much tighter than the first pair I bought. I called Red Wing and they did say that the last mold has been changed recently. So I exchanged the 12EE for a 13EE. Perfect fit on width, but a tad long. I am a little disappointed. I am going to keep them, but I will shop around for my next new hunting boot in a couple years. Maybe the LL Bean Kangaroo.

I love these Boots
I work as a construction manager. I am on the road working every day. In my search for the perfect boot, I went to a boot store and the clerk asked me what I was looking for and I said I like my boots, waterproof and non safety toe that will keep me from taking 4 ibuprofens every four hours for my back. He laughed and had me try on a pair of boots that were about $300. They felt great. Then he had me try these boots on and I was in heaven. He warned me that these are waterproof hunting boots and the soles will wear out quickly on hard surfaces but for about $175 they were worth a try. I buy two or three pairs of these a year. They take a beating and I don't take the ibuprofens anymore. For the money I spend on them, they are sooooo worth it. This boot is a dark brown and black sole, its sibling theIrish Setter Men's 838 Wingshooter WP Upland Hunting Boot, Amber - 11 2E US is a lighter brown and beige sole. Both are great, brand new I have worn the dark brown out to dinner in a snow storm. They look that good.

Comfortable but not the same
It was hard letting go of my Redwing boots that I purchased in the 80's, but a torn tongue in the left boot and both heels worn down it was time for new boots. It was difficult to decide on buying this new pair after reading the reviews of how they just weren't the same any more. I would agree with that. No longer the same color; less speed-loops; heavier; less suppleness in the leather; and boot straps sticks out too far. Despite my nostalgic disappointment in the changes that have been made, these boots are all-day comfortable and seem to be stitched together well. Hopefully with some Huberd's and more break-in time the leather will soften up some. When it's time to replace these boots, I doubt I'll have any difficulty letting them go.

Quality and comfortability
First time I bought these boots was back in November 2018 (about 3 years now), I use to wear tims to work (construction supervisor) so I walk a lot, since I tried the Irish settle I felt what a real working boots are, comfortable, reliable, waterproof that compared to the others I use to have it’s a whole different world, now (10/25/21) I just received my new pair and like I said first time I wore them, these are the boots I’ll always buy with no regrets, they really worth it, buy it and you’ll see it yourself!

Great Boot
I wanted a leather boot for Fall and early Winter here in Northern Arizona. These boots took about 2 days to break in and are very comfortable. We take our dogs into the Kaibab Forest which has some rough terrain. I feel very secure hiking in these boots as they offer great ankle support. I was looking at another brand, went back and forth and finally hit the Amazon buy button on these Irish Setter 807's; sure glad I did. They look good, are well made and comfortable, even my wife made a comment on how well these boots look and how well made they are. I did apply a coat of Mink Oil to increase their water proofing and help protect the leather. It did not change the color at all. Very happy with these boots.

Initial Satisfaction
I ordered these boots because I like a moccasin-toe boot without insulation for walking, not sitting. Only time will tell but I am impressed based on my initial use of the boots. Comfort out of the box was greater than I expected and with several days of use have only gotten more so. Sizing was just right for my preferred type of sock which is not overly thick as a sock chosen for cold season hunting. In past years I have worn boots from Browning, Russell, Chippewa(?), etc. and these boots compare favorably. I must also admit that one of the first requirements for any boot I choose is that the sole be as near to cleatless as is possible. Being a professional outdoorsman most of my working career (which has been a long time now), I refuse to wear a boot that is deep cleated as they are extremely difficult to clean. Tracking mud into the house is a no-no!....enough said. I give the boot four stars as only time will tell if the boot lives up to my initial observation, otherwise I would give it five stars.

Excellent boots!
These boots are stylish and comfy! By far my favourite boot there is. Only shame is they’re no longer made in the U.S.

A great boot
Great boots. A little narrow in the toe box...wish they still made the “king toe” boot. Boots are comfortable out of the box. Will buy again.
