Bulky but worth it

I immediately noticed how heavy, and bulky they were compared to most fencing pliers, but once in use, the weight isn't noticed, and the bulk makes for a solid tool for accomplishing all your fencing tasks

single set of gripping teeth

bought these to replace a set of 40 year old Crescent pliers that I lost. single set of gripping teeth make these pliers almost useless . ended up spending the money to buy a new pair of Crescents with the standard dual gripping teeth

Extremely useful!

They thought of everything with these tools. I'm removing old collapsed barbed wire near a stream, and these things are amazing. The pliers have a notch to pull out the wire staples from the collapsed/rotten posts, and an area to pinch the barb wire itself for pulling it without risking your hands. The cutters are easy through a single wire, but take a bit of effort to cut the two-wire strands. They have long handles for a lot of leverage though. There is some wire fencing where the outer wires are pretty thick, and that can be hard to cut with these. I've not been stuck unable to cut anything though, but in some cases the wire is in briars and bushes and such, and can be hard to cut one-handed if you can't reach well. That's not a normal situation I imagine. There are two cutting areas, but oddly neither one is fully open when the pliers are. It's not a big deal, but when trying to cut where you can't see/access well it can be hard to ensure the cutting area is fully opened when trying to feed it over the wire. They also have a hammer for pounding in wire staples, and a hook for prying them up. The hook is stout and I use it to bust up the rotten fence posts if a staple is being difficult, and also to drag the ground to find barbed wire that is on the ground and has been overgrown. Other than something to clear away brush, this tool has been the only thing I needed to clean up barbed wire.

Versatile

I’ve had this exact fencing tool, for many years. It was well used and still worked fine …until I lost it. As much use and abuse as the first one got, it remained tight. I am pleased that the replacement I just bought, is the same great quality. It has all the features needed for wire fence installation: hammer, wire cutters, and staple pullers.

Won't last a lifetime

Ive only used it for a few hours and already the hammer end has burred, metal seems soft

GREAT FENCE TOOL

This tool is well made and has very soft comfortable handles. Irwin always makes really great tools that last a long long time. This tool is very easy on your hands as the handles are made to be softer than other ones like it. If you buy this tool, you will be very happy with it and it will last you a very long time.

A Amazon tem que atualizar as fotos do produto. A foto no site é do modelo antigo, mas chegou o novo! Cortou arame de aço ovalado sem maiores dificuldades. Para trabalhar, ainda prefiro o desenho antigo da cabeça do alicate, com a curvatura mais acentuada.
