Great intro to Pokémon trading card game (TCG)
My son loves playing this with me. The rule book and tutorial books are a great way to learn how to play the trading card game. The tutorial has you starting out playing with a very specific setup with the decks arranged in a special numeric order (not shuffled). But you can then switch over to standard rules with shuffled decks once you get used to game play. Cards are marked to show which deck they belong to in case they get mixed up.

100% recommend
So awesome!! This is a great introduction to the ins and outs of the game! It’s easy to understand and really helps you start to see how it all works. We have been having a blast. Started playing with the cards in number order as suggested but now we just shuffle them and my gosh it’s been so fun. Any time we have a question about a rule or something we aren’t sure on I just google it and we are learning a ton!!! My 5&7 year old both are playing with ease and my 3 year old loves to be on my team! Definitely buy!!

Great Starter Kit
My son is 5 and caught the Pokemon bug. His friends collect and trade the cards but don't actually play the game. I bought this because my son wanted to learn how to do battles. This comes with 3 decks of 60 cards each and excellent directions that walk you through your first game play by play. The decks come in order so that the directions can walk you through exactly what to do. This was super helpful as I had never played and made it easy to teach my 5 year old at the same time I was learning. I make him read his own cards and this is the motivation he needs to learn to read. His mom and I have been trying to get him into books for forever but he's been resisting learning to read from us. I'll take it

As Expected
Our son has been begging us to play Pokémon cards but we haven't had a clear set of rules. I popped this open when it arrived today to check before wrapping it, and it's so cute. Comes with the extra sets of cards which makes it extra special as a gift for kids who are in love with card collecting. The rules are clear and set out on the board. Look forward to playing some games!

The BEST way to learn Pokemon
When my five year old wanted to get Pokémon cards, we got this game so he could learn how to play. The tutorials walk you through each step of the game—they make all the difference in helping you understand how to play. The steps of each turn are also written on the game board so you can reference it as you play. My kiddo has learned so much from this—math, reading, strategy. He is now building his own decks and he consistently beats his mom and dad.

We enjoyed this game just as much as the kid!
Pokémon was not a game I played growing up but boy do we enjoying playing this! They make it super easy with step by step instructions to make the first few rounds super simple to learn the rules. Once you get those down you can add in whatever deck you have created on your own. We have had some intense matches while playing! It may only be two player but we like to add in a third person to help handle the shuffling and damage coins. Third person is not necessary by any means but it keeps us all involved!

Comes with a lot of Pokémon cards
Card game is fun. It comes with a lot of Pokémon cards. Which can be good if your child is beginning to collect cards.

Amazing game...! 4 missing cards :(
The game is extremely fun, me and my friends enjoyed it a lot. With the hard board and 3 decks, its an unbeatable price. The reason I gave 4 stars is because I have 4 cards missing from my Pikachu deck-- not sure if its only energy or a pokemon or other. The cards are all numbered so it feels sad to have some missing. Cards # 32, 33, 43, 44,

A great introduction to the game
I got this for my 8 year old daughter who only had a few random Pokémon cards but wanted to actually play and as a starter/introduction to the game - you really couldn’t get any better. There are 3 ready-made decks in here, that’s 180 cards. A play board, damage tokens and full instructions. 2 of the decks are even specially ordered so players can follow the instructions for their first game and learn the rules. The number of cards and the fact that they are three pre-made decks means this really is exceptional value for money and if anyone is looking to start playing Pokémon you would be crazy not to start here.

My 7 year old grandson said he REALLY loved this gift!
I purchased this game as a birthday gift. My grandson had started to collect Pokemons and he likes board games. I thought this would be a good game for him to play with his dad and brother. So far they love it.

Good value
Bought as xmas present for my 8 year old daughter who has never been into Pokémon but does enjoy board games. She didn’t like it, she loved it, apparently - so success!! Very easy to learn as it starts simple and there’s even a tutorial video online which we watched rather than having to read the rules. She then went off and taught her mum how to play after we’d had a couple of games. There is more complexity, which we haven’t got to yet, around weaknesses and strengths which I assume is like fire beats grass, water beats fire etc. like in the video games. Of the three decks included, we’ve only used two (for simplified start up) so still have the third deck to look through when attempting the complete rule set. Overall a good set that’s good value for money, certainly the right price for testing someone who you might not be sure will enjoy it! And for those parents who want a way into nostalgia-ville this is a good gateway. I choose you!!

Great way to learn the game
Got this for my daughter and I to learn to play. Lots of fun, and we've been adding to the decks to improve variety and fun with the cards from other boosters.
