I'm using this on a low-slope ceiling and, since most fans do the same thing, I wanted a light in it that would be bright enough for my 16x12 living room. This is bright enough for me, moves air fine and doesn't wobble or create any noise. One concern is that the plastic blades are not exactly "white". Whatever resin they molded these out of (I used to be in the business) has left off-color swirls in the blades that can be seen at certain angles and light. It doesn't bother me but if you're expecting pure white blades, these aren't it. I'm using this indoors and if you're using it on a porch you won't notice the blades. The remote supplied is clunky and lacks any style but if this holds up, I'll consider this a good purchase. Update: The swirls on the blades are due to particles being attracted to them due to the plastic material used for the blade. You can wipe the film off.

Fan only rotates in the clockwise direction

The fan was purchased in October of 2021 and it was much easier to install than the one it replaced. However, the first time that I turned it on this summer I found that the fan only rotated in the clockwise direction, which means it only blows air up toward the ceiling. This, obviously, is not helpful for cooling the room in which it was installed. On calling the “help” number listed in the product manual I learned that Emerson fans had gone into bankruptcy. I was put in contact with Carroll Parts, which company maintains a supply of parts for Emerson products. It was suggested that I replace the receiver, so I spent another $100 to have that part shipped to me. Unfortunately, the new receiver did not fix the problem…the fan still does not reverse direction. On calling Carroll Parts again, they were pleasant enough, but had no other suggestions to remedy the situation. The fan is still under warranty, but that doesn’t help me since Emerson is no longer in existence and Carroll has nothing to do with covering their warranties. Bottom line: stay away from Emerson products.

Very quiet, did not need any balancing adjustmet

I replaced an older existing fan with this one. The installation was easy, but keep in mind that, because of its design, the 3 blades must be installed before you hang it from the ceiling. That means the blades are somewhat in the way when you're hanging it and hooking up the wiring. It's very quiet and I really like that it has 6 speeds. It's installed above the bed, and with the fan on its slowest setting you get a really gentle breeze from it. Nice! It's been a couple weeks after installation now, and it's working perfectly. Very happy with it.

Nice attractive fan

It would have had 5 star except getting an extended drop that fit was a pain in the back side! Even then I could not find an Emerson 18" and had to settle for a 24", which worked fine in my room as the ceilings were high enough.

Service great product not so much

Once we got the fan installed we realized that the motor mount was warped and no balancing would fix it. It had to be returned. The fan was also stuck in reverse mode and would not switch directions. The service provider was excellent. They were fast and responded appropriately. Just a note: These fans are no longer made by Emerson as they sold to another company that makes them in China. So sad because we have two other Emerson fans that are great. I may have to try another Emerson but I will likely go back to the midway model and hope it is a well put together one.
