Solid waterproof boots for hiking

I would say these are definitely comfortable right out of the box! It started raining on a hike and my feet inside were still dry. The reason I took off one star is the sizing is a little weird. I am normally 9.5 which in EU sizing is 40.5. However Keen makes 9.5 smaller than that so I had to go with a size 10. This is not the case with the Keen rose sandals though, those are true to size. So just be aware that you will likely need to size up at least half a size.

Not quite true to size

I have purchased Keen boots for years and this is the first time the fit isn't quite right. The toe box isn't roomy as in past boots and slightly tight over the arch [especially on the left foot]. I wore them around the house twice, thinking they may 'relax/stretch' a bit, but they didn't . Unfortunately , I will be returning these.

So far, so good

I was so excited to find these on clearance (I got them for about 65% off regular price)! I tried another well-known brand of inexpensive hiking boots but they were just too bulky for my liking. These looked a little slimmer profile and I liked that they were leather so I watched them on Amazon for awhile. Once the price dropped, I got them! I've only worn them around the house but right off they seem very comfortable. I did get a half size larger than my normal size (I normally wear 9.5, I ordered 10) and I'm so glad I did. They fit great! A 9.5 would have been way too tight against the tip of my toes. I'm anxious to try these on the trail! I need to "break them in" before our 2 week hiking trip in Utah. I'll update after I've worn them more. So far I'm happy with these Keen hiking boots!

Great looking boot, however it was not comfortable for me. Also my feet felt cold indoors with the heat on. Returned.

Not as expected

I typically love Keen shoes (I have six pairs) but the Terradora 2 is a bit of a disappointment. I ordered a half size up as recommended since the toe box isn't as big as some other Keens. So that helped with the toe area, but the rest of the shoe fits tightly. My foot width feels scrunched (I don't wear a wide size). They are just not as comfortable as the rest of my Keens. Possibly after breaking them in they may feel better but I've never had to break in a pair of Keens before. I wish I had not worn them outside - I would have returned them. The only thing I like about these is that they look more like a shoe than a boot. But it's not worth killing my feet for a "look."

tight toes

I wanted so badly to like them, but the toes are so tight, and seemed to have no hope of giving. I found them true to size by length, but the toe box was so narrow, I couldn't even imagine how much pain (and bunions) they would cause if I actually took them out for a hike. It was like the look of a rugged boot with the feel of a high heel.

Amazing Boots 2 years later

I bought these boots in 2020 and am reviewing 2 years later to say that these are the best hiking boots I've ever owned. I've done countless short and multi-day hikes with them and they have remained waterproof. This was the main quality I was looking for in a reasonably priced boot since I live on the west coast and it rains a lot. I recently did the West Coast Trail and these boots were amazing - I was the only one in my group who didn't get blisters and my feet stayed dry the whole time.

Exactly what I wanted

I've tried and returned a range of boots from different manufacturers, and these do everything I wanted: size 6 fits (I'm a 5.5 in shoes, 6 in trainers. I ordered some boots in 7 and they were still too tight!); they are really comfortable; they are robust but lightweight; they seem well made; they look good. I haven't given them a good hammering yet but I've worn them all day and for lots of sub-10 mile walks - comfy all the way.

Perfect!

These a such great boots. True to size and a nice leather so look stylish and are very comfy. I tried lots of cheaper boots which either weren’t true to size or did not look as nice. I’m really glad I spent the extra and tried these as there’s nothing worse than sore feet out on a walk! Really happy with them.
