Great all around work boot
I've mainly worn these outside during the winter. They grip the ground well and I've worn them on trails and they grip icy ground just as well. The shoes are warm and the size, although a little larger than I usually wear, fits me well. One nice thing is these came with normal shoe laces. My last pair of Keens had a weird locking mechanism that lasted for about a month before my laces started slipping loose every day. The shoes are brown and they have the typical yellow Keen label but it's small and unobtrusive. Overall, these are great work or trail boots. I could see hunters wearing them as well. In the PNW they've come in handy during the December frosts.

Sizing is spot on. Sharp looking, lightweight and comfortable style. Keen quality ++++
Keen sizing can be hit or miss but these are spot on. 9.5 fits like 9.5. Initially they looked very big when we opened the box but they are perfect. Lightweight and very comfortable. They look really sharp too if you plan to use them as an alternative to say athletic looking hiking boots that a lot of guys wear as their every day shoe. My bf works as a phone/computer tech in various settings, from hospitals to professional offices & sometimes new construction. These are perfect for those settings bc they don't look sloppy but still very functional. If you want to keep them looking good, I wouldn't wear them in the garage during messy jobs, like oil changes or other things that might spill. They are lighter in color than what he's used to so they won't hide the dirt like his dark work boots do. But if you intend to wear these for construction, etc. (i.e. non-greasy conditions) I would highly recommend. Even after wearing them all day, he said they never felt heavy or too hot. Keen is one of the best brands available now. Their quality hasn't changed over the years. Sizing issues are usually dependant on style so I wouldn't consider that a negative strike against them as a boot maker. We've found Timberlands to be a joke these days, with quality going down more and more each year. I just can't justify the price of Tims. Even the less expensive ones you expect to wear as a throwaway or knockaround pair,.you're lucky if you get 1 season out of them. I realize it's not fair to compare the quality of a boot that's in the 70$ price range to anything Keen makes. It's totally apples and oranges...pay the extra and go for the really good oranges...you know, the ones from Florida. ;) I hope our humble opinion helps you in some way. Thank you for reading.

Not steel toe. Good quality
These boots are very sturdy . They are not steel toe, so if that's something you need, then make sure you check-out other KEEN options. They offer several options. I really like the rubber tread on the sole. Thick and firm. Nice padding on the footbed. Arch support too. These boots are expensive, but they are much higher quality than other cheap boot.

No break-in period required
These KEEN Utility Men's Chicago 6” Soft Toe Waterproof Work Boots were comfortable from the first time I put them on. I wore them about 6 hours that first day. Since then, I've put them on every morning around 6 a.m. and taken them off about 8 p.m. and my feet have felt great throughout. I own several pairs of KEENs and all of them are terrific, but these really take the cake. Compared to other boots of this type, these seem almost buttery soft, while also feeling durable and sturdy. The soles are thick, but not so stiff that they bother my feet. They lace up as tight as I want them and still can be taken off fast when I need to get them off. I should have polished them or applied some kind of leather protection before I first wore them because they're already showing quite a bit of scuffing. I've been doing some construction work around concrete blocks and have encountered some hard, rough edges and they scuffed the boots. But that was my own doing and you can be more careful. I really can't say enough good about these boots. They are 5 stars at least!

Great dual use boot...work and camping
I was in need of a new work boot and camping boot. I prefer to get a boot that can function for both so I can get a better quality boot instead of buying 2pair of just okay boots. My wife and kids both have had keen boots and they seem like great boots. So I decided to get myself a pair and I'm glad I did. They fit perfectly and are comfortable. I did not have to break them in to be able to wear them for long periods of time. They have a solid construction and although not steel toed they are pretty darn durable ( my wife stubbed her toe on one sitting on the garage floor and she swore it broke her toe, thats solid) . They are waterproof and rubber soled both pretty important features i was looking for in my dual use boot. I dont use them everyday but I imagine if I did they would hold up just fine.
