One burner doesn't heat the same as the others.

Drain cup is too small. Burners don't all heat to the same temperature.

Kenmore: Super Underrated Grill Brand

The media could not be loaded. My dad passed down his old Kenmore grill to me a few years back (had no clue they made grills), and it lasted about ten years between the two of us. Was always impressed with how well it cooked, so when it finally gave out, I knew I would end up buying another Kenmore. Was hesitant to order this particular model based on reviews of damaged/missing parts and a tedious assembly process, but I pulled the trigger anyway. Simply put, the grill looks immaculate and everything works like a charm. Have yet to cook on it yet, but the blue flame and effortless ignite is a great sign. The assembly isn't for the faint of heart, but it's not impossible. Just need some patience and a good tool set. Took me a little over two hours to fully assemble and I'm pretty mechanically inclined. Can't imagine most grills wouldn't be any better though, so don't let it keep you from buying the grill you like. Will update once I get some steaks on this bad boy, but overall, I highly reccomend this grill.

DON'T BUY FOR NATURAL GAS

I'd give this grill a 5 star rating if I hadn't had to call a plumber for the natural gas hook up. The grill is advertised to convert easily with a conversion kit. We installed the conversion kit and the grill did not get very hot. So we called a plumber to be sure we hooked it up correctly. It took him awhile, but he finally figured out that the fittings inside the grill in the gas distribution pipe which feed the burners were the size for propane, not natural gas. He had to remove the pipe and drill the wholes bigger. Needless to say, in order to get the grill to work properly, I had to invest another couple of hundred dollars.

Impossible to assemble - punched threads painted over.

Pending reply from Permasteel (the manufacturer to whom the manual says to address any questions - and they're only available M-F 9-5 PST), so this review may get upgraded. For the moment, however... Severely disappointed in the build quality. This seems to be described and designed identically to the barbecue we finally wore out after more than a dozen or so years. But repeatedly we found that the threads pressed into the sheet metal had been incompletely drilled and in some cases painted over to the point that we were entirely unable to fit the fascia to the side-burner assembly, as well as the side-burner assembly to the barbecue itself. Worse, Kenmore is no longer a Sears product. Permasteel's customer service line is staffed only 9a-5p PST. So, no celebratory steak on the new barbecue any time soon, if they choose to send us a side-burner assembly that can, indeed, be assembled and attached to the barbecue. Stay tuned for updates. UPDATE as promised: In answer to another potential buyer who asked if the burners heat evenly, I responded as below. "Unknown. We have not been able to use the grill. Poorly manufactured side-shelf assembly had been painted/coated after threads had been cut into the metal, making it impossible to finish assembly. Contacted Permasteel (NOT truly a Kenmore product, by the way, just purchased the brand name for their use, apparently) for assistance. They sent parts of the assembly, but having been manufactured in the same manner. Their further instructions were to hire someone locally to figure out a way to finish the assembly since they do not provide further assistance at this point. So...heat distribution? I'm FULLY steamed over this purchase." Anybody know a metal fabricator or really savvy handyman in Salinas, California?

Do yourself a favor and purchase a grill that has already been assembled at the store. You can then inspect the build quality. Many of the holes were misaligned.

Needs To Be Replaced

I'm Trying To Get A Hold Of You To Tell You I Cannot Return This Grill Because It's Already Put Together... The Lid Has A Dent And Gouge/Scratch That Prevents The Lid From Closing Completely And The Grill Can't Hold A Temperature. I Don't Want To Leave A Bad Review But Couldn't Find A Way To Message You! I'd Appreciate A Refund And I'll Come Back With A Good Review Because I Know Kenmore Is A Great Brand And I've Always Purchased Kenmore Grills/Appliances. Thank You.
