Very stylish gird with old or modern house

Beautiful I ordered 6 One of the lights were already chipped . It seems it can chip easily needs to be handled very carefully . Hopefully it won’t chip after Instalation . I love the look

Horrific Quality Control!

Poor Poor Chinese quality, not worth the hassle or price!! Kenroy Home Customer Service is non-existent. I called minimum 5 times, never got a live person, and left 3 messages none of them ever returned. If it weren't for Amazon sending me replacements I would have been up a creek. I had to return 3 units in-order to get a lamp that was not completely crooked, loose/sagging, holes drilled in the wrong place, and missing paint on the metal or with paint on the slate. Well that's not exactly true, the 4th unit also had a bad countersink, resulting in a completely crooked top arm which causes lamp and top plate to stick off center from the back plate. Therefore I ended up taking it apart and fixing the counter-bore with a carbide burr so everything fit tight and square. First one, had the 2 holes for the electrical box mounting bracket drilled in the wrong spot. Their fix was to fil it with a brown paste that did not match the green-blue color of slate, and not only was it used in the holes it was left smeared all over the front. Second one, the top metal arm that is bolted to the slate backplate, which holds up the entire lamp shade and decorative slate top assembly, was loose. When I went to tighten up the nut I found that the factory workers had nearly drilled complete through the slate when cutting the countersink. There was just a halfmoon shaped edge of slate left and they had stacked 15+ washers on the threaded rod to make up the difference. Needless to say the thin bit of slate did not survive, it cracked off and then the top arm could go completely through the backplate. Third one, counter bore was of acceptable depth, but drilled poorly so the top arm was out ~15degrees. Therefore the top slate piece had a wedge gap only touching the back on one side, and the whole lamp shade assembly hangs off center with the back. To top it off there were smears of bronze paint on the slate in a couple places.

Great-looking but quality issues

We installed this as an up light in our entry hall. Other buyers complained that the slate is green rather than brown. We like the green and that's what we got. It arrived well-packaged; we noticed a tiny sliver of slate had broken off in the packaging. Another flake came off as we installed it. Neither loss shows. Installation was fairly easy, be aware that this is a heavy fixture. Once it was in place, we saw that the glass shade and stem are crooked, angling inward, and the back is not flat against the wall. The horizontal square of stone above / below the light is not level. While we like the fixture, looking at the crooked arm and slanting stone slab woud drive us crazy. Back it goes. Buyers should be aware that this requires gentle handling and likely would not stand up well to cleaning or dusting.

Light Up Your Night!

Bought these lights for a front yard makeover of my home, and they are just plain fabulous. An 80 watt LED bulb makes the perfect glow inside the frosted glass and changing bulbs requires just a simple hand twist. Five lights were needed for my project, and each one arrived in mint condition. All the screws, plates and hardware made wiring a breeze. They are so distinctive and classy without being garish, and they make my home reflect my values of style and art in natural harmony.

Very Nice Product

This has the quality and appearance of a much more expensive fixture. We are using them in a rustic cabin and they go well with some tumbled slate tiles we put up. They would be great on an exterior as well. Picture is pretty accurate. I would describe the metallic parts to have a rustic, matte finish and each of the slate pieces is as pictured (ie, tumbled, rough hewn, mostly brown/gray/charcoal in appearance). Some tumbled slate can be multicolored with red and green accents...these are neutral brown/gray and they go well with the metal. The glass is slightly less "white" than the picture implies, which was welcome for our application...more of a sandy tint. Cheers

Classy and classic

So classy. This is going on my modern home to replace some faux-Colonial lighting that was cheap and did not go with the house. Easy to install and looks super. The glass isn't high-end but it's perfectly fine.
