Very decent and substantial

We just installed two of these and really like them. Made of cast aluminum with welded seams (bulb box sides/frame) and some screwed together parts (finial/lid, and base cap on base arm, etc.), they are substantial pieces and yet not too heavy to hang well. The finish is fine, nothing notable, just a satin black. I really like the glass. It is lightly frosted in white frost, and then textured with linen slubs throughout with some sort of epoxy paint or glass paint over the frost. They throw a nice amount of light as the frost is light, but they also cut the glare of the bulbs pretty well, a good balance. The glass panels are all individually mounted and probably removable if you ever needed this. The bulb housing is not sealed, so the glass plates can be jiggled a little and it's not sealed from elements or small insects on the sides, although the top from straight down is a solid water shield so to speak. Rain hitting the glass plates will course down into the bottom of the bulb box and there is a drain hole at the bottom of it; I doubt any moisture could reach the bulb base itself. The actual wiring is siliconed at the mounting wall plate, but you must waterproof the mounting plate to your surface for wet locations. These have a nice proportion to them and are stately and sedate, would go with a lot of styles. Delivery was no problem with no missing pieces or broken glass, although it took a bit longer than standard items, which was stated in advance. I would buy them again, they are decent quality well priced for what you get. It seems difficult to buy any substantial DECENT exterior light fixture in this size range for any less, although one can easily buy whole small appliances for less and light fixtures are not that complex to manufacture! One star off for the price because of this, although this product IS competitive compared to others out there, price-wise. I just think lighting has larger margins than other products in their pricing, is all I can figure.

Great light for a great price.

Exactly what i was looking for. Not too big, not too small. I have a wifi enabled bulb so i did not need a motion or light sensor which seems harder to find these days. Mounting was simple just be sure not to screw in the mounting screws too far before you attach the plate to your wall. The instructions are not very clear so if you have never hung a light before this would not be the one i would recommend cutting your teeth on unless you're good at figuring some things out.
