I've used Klein tools for over 20 years as an electrician in the military. No surprise to me, this tapping tool works well.

Great Tool. NO WARRANTY

This has always been a required tool in my bag. Can't tell you how many threaded racks I've come across where the threads had been crossed and were unabled. This little tool cleans those up nicely! Heck, if the threads are too far gone you an use this to take them up a size and make that RU usable again. I can't recommend enough adding this tool to your kit. Why only 3 stars? Klein's warranty page specifically states that this tool must be purchased from an authorized dealer. If not, your warranty is void. I had another Klein tool purchased on Amazon from "The Klein Store" and was informed by customer support on that one. Klein told me to return it to Amazon. So, for me to give this any higher stars would require this tool to costs a lot less since it has no warranty. Also, I find it misleading for Amazon to create a "Klein Store" making it appear that they are an authorized reseller.

Chasing a 1/4-20 hole, it wants to thread at 12-24. You'll see once you get one of these.

Not As Advertised

I purchased this based on the advert. that "Made in the USA". NOT!! if you read the back of the package this is what is advertised. Klein tools of Mexico. Handle made in the USA. Bit made in China. !! So bottom line you are being led to believe you bought an American product but in fact you bought a hybrid. What a way to advertise. Based on false advertising I've given it a 1 star because delivery date was honoured. Had I known it was a hybrid I would have not purchased it. I'm tempted to send it back.

Arrived pre-broken

Mine arrived with the smaller top already snapped off in transport, so I am not too sure that this will stand up to any dropping or heavy use, with the finer parts anyway. Amazon sorted it out for me (thanks Amazon!) but even so, I think unless you are short of space in your tool box, you would be better off with a tap set than this. One of the reviews said that you can replace the bits, but I haven't managed to find any yet! Hopefully, you find this review helpful.

The inside scoop ...

Excellent tool to have when problems arise. For those who aren't familiar with this tool ... the specs say that there's six different taps available, but you only see three in the picture. Turns out you're only seeing 1/2 of the assembly. There are two taps secured inside a central black sleeve via Allen set screws. The black sleeve pulls out from the handle ... the other tap is stored inside the handle. Pull out the sleeve, rotate and then re-insert to get access to the other tap.

Very disappointing!

I have used this same product many times before I decided to purchase it, so I know that it works well. However I purchased this to use around the house and after only a 3 uses I broke it! Extremely disappointing since it was not cheap and the replacement part cost nearly as much as a new one.

I bought this for my husband who does electrical work and he uses it regularly. Very handy. Klein is always good quality.
