just follow directions

This water bottle is just fine for my needs. I saw reviews about leaking, but tried it out anyway and I haven't had any problems.Just follow the directions and it is a pretty good product. Yeah I know looking at directions for a water bottle seems lame or unnecessary, but they don't make them like the Lixit brand I used years ago anymore. Anyway I had to buy another locally since making this purchase and the Pet store clerk said, "you have to fill this up completely. A lot of people say it leaks but it won't if you FILL it COMPLETELY.. You can't just put in a days supply of water at a time." I agreed with him. He probably tells everyone who buys one because of this feature. I've used this for about 2 months for 2 male rats and they get a good supply that lasts a few days. Mine is blue with a turtle figure to judge the water level. I prefer the clear plastic for ease of viewing water supply. Price is good.

Missing metal piece

It’s a nice water bottle but the metal that holds it onto the cage was missing. I rigged it but would’ve preferred the metal. It may of gotten lost in shipping. I don’t know. That’s only reason I gave it a 3 star since it was not in handy shape for use.

Does not leak!

The water bottle we bought for our guinea pig at the pet store has leaked slightly since the day we got it - but lately it had gotten much worse and we were finding it empty almost every day. Aside from worrying about the guinea pig not having water in her bottle, the bedding in her cage was getting completely soaked and it was a total mess! After reading many reviews, I decided to try this water bottle and so far it has been fantastic. As other reviewers have stated, if you don't fill it to the very top it does leak - but once we figured this out, we have found that it doesn't even drip. The clear plastic makes it easy to check the water level at a glance, and the hanger holds the bottle securely in place. The only possible issue I can see is that the bottle we were sent was clear with blue writing and a black cap, not the green that was pictured, so it looks like the color you get might vary. We didn't care about that, but some people might. Overall we are very happy to have a nice dry cage for our piggie again!

has hung for 5 hours and cage soaked

I received my bottle today along with the rest of my equipment and went and brought home my guinea pigs. It has been hanging about 5 hour now and my floor is totally saturated. I have moved the bedding around several times to help it dry and keep my girls feet dry and it continues to drip. Since I read all the reviews and everyone says this bottle does not leak, I must have a faulty one. Update 3/16/2013: Second time I filled the bottle, I put a small pan underneath to catch the drips. When I returned from work, the bottle was completely empty and the little pan full of water. I washed the bottle and filled it one more time. Other than a few initial drips after filling it, this time it has not dripped at all. In fact, I check it continuously because I am not sure if my babies are even able to get water out because the water level is going down so slowly. They are still very young (only 9 and 11 ounces) which from everything I have read suggest they re only 6 or 7 weeks so I guess they don't need a lot to drink yet.

A good buy

I bought this bottle to replace my old 9ne that was leaking so bad. This has been great- minimal leaking and a good full size. The little turtle in the water is cute and great for checking the levels. My guinea has not bitten through anything on it. I wished the metal holder actaually held the bottle but overall we're both happy and I would recommend this bottle.

Works Great for Guinea Pig

I agree with other reviewers that this works better than any other water bottle, with one caveat. This bottle does not leak and it's a great size. Every other bottle I've tried leaks. I did buy a couple Super Pet flat-back clear glass water bottles for the springy cords they come with. The bottles leaked and I couldn't get the nozzle to face the right way for my guinea pig to easily access the water, but the hanging system is perfection. I use the spring cord and holder from the Super Pet bottle on an Oasis 16-oz. bottle. Finally, I am happy with how a water bottle works.

It does the trick

This water bottle had me puzzled. I read a ton of reviews on other bottles, and decided to go with this one. When I first filled it up, it leaked like crazy, i was very disappointed. So I read the instructions, and it says to fill the bottle to the tip top, so little air gets in. I filled it to the tip top, and screwed the cap on really tight. It had a few initial drips, but has been fine ever since. I would recommend this product, but make sure you fill the bottle all the way to the top.

Best small animal bottles out there

The best small pet water bottles on the market by far. Hard to find in Canada, but absolutely worth it. They'll outlast others and save you money in the long run. Clean regularly inside and out, and it's always best not to buy a colored bottle. Clear bottles make it easy to see both the level of the water, and visually verify that it hasn't been left too long and become gross inside, far too easy with colored bottles and kids.

Keeps its seal when full

It's a good water bottle. Better than the others I've tried. It's not perfect because sometimes it keeps the seal and other times I find the water bottle has leaked and the cage floor is completely wet. But the trucks I've learned are...to keep the seal so the water doesn't leak out, fill it completely to the top until the water creates a curved bubble that slightly protrudes from the opening before putting on the spout and always keep the bottle full. It looses it's seal as the water reaches the halfway mark.

Finally!

Something that doesn't leak everywhere! After my months of searching I have finally found it ! The cute turtle in the bottle to show the water level easily was a nice bonus :)

Leaks. Terribly

I’m no stranger to waterbottles. Can fix most leak issues. Some require more water some require less. But this brand. No matter how you fiddle with it. It just leaks. Had to return.

I bought two. They are nice bottles but they leak big time. The one bottle emptied 5 mins after I put it on the cage.
