Seems good but Very loud
The installation was very easy and the functionality of the locks seems to be just fine. I install this today so I need a few days for the full review. My only concern at this point is the level of noise the lock generates one opening and closing. This might sound petty, but it’s unusually loud. I’ll give it a week to see my final thoughts…

Battery box poor connection
Cool screen panel. The battery box frequently disconnected when closing door hardly so my kids complained they cannot entered into the house twice a month. I have to uninstalled the lock box and reinstalled the battery box immediately after it was broken. furthermore, it seemed they mailed me a used one witch missed a very small screw. I don't care it repackaged but I have to find another different screw in my tool box that made this lock ugly with a screw sticking out.

Does not work with Echo 4th generation with Hub
As a keyless door lock, it is excellent. I had the kwikset 909 deadbolt and wanted a nicer looking one with smart home features. It is listed as a Zigbee device. I have an Echo 4th gen with a zigbee hub. After failing to connect, I contacted Kwikset support online. After weeks of back and forth, being given echo products that it "should work with and me replying that those aren't available anymore they asked me to call. The next tech/warrantee guy said the lock should work with the echo 10 show 3rd gen. I told the guy that I didn't I wanted to spend $250 on something in the hopes that it might work. He contacted another team and they're going to let me return in even though I'm out of the 30 day policy. That's awesome customer service. I'm glad that they're going to make it right and will continue to but kwikset products, but they really need to be specific in the description what hubs will and won't work to avoid this in the first place.

Nice Automated Lock
I use this with Smartthings. The motor is a little noisy but works flawlessly. Recommend.

Was painless to install and just worked
I expected everything to go wrong when I installed this, but no, amazingly it just worked. Pros 1. Didn't have to drill any holes in a door (like a previous one I had to return) 2. Amazon echo gen 4 immediately worked after putting both in pairing mode 3. Buttons light up 4. Has smart rekey feature so I now use my existing house key which is the same as my doorknob (honestly didn't know that was a feature) 5. Already had a Kwikset deadbolt in, the internals looked identical to this one, meaning if you already have a Kwikset you know this deadbolt is going to fit identically 6. I think this lock was 1 1/8" on outside part of door, fit between my screendoor knob just fine (only 1/8" deeper than normal deadbolt) Cons 1. Servo motor is almost as loud as a blender, thats every time I put in a code or unlock it with anything other than a key 2. Of the 6 times I have asked alexa if my door was locked one of the times she responded with "the lock is not responding" 3. Looks more gold than brass to me, but i was expecting it to, looks like it does in pictures Have had smartlock for 2 hours now, will update if something bad happens, no update means nothing worth mentioning.

Misleading & not compatible
Very difficult Alexa integration with older devices unless using the latest Zigbee (3.0). Very misleading and Amazon/kwikset customer service are basically useless. Battery in lock died a month after daily use. Not recommending!

A quality lock
I'm still debating a 4 star vs 5 star review on this. It looks nice and has all of the compatibility I wanted so that I can lock and unlock several ways: Key Keypad Alexa Phone My one hesitation is around the keypad. It's seems to smudge up a little which makes me wonder does it tip my code to others. Also it took me a little while to get used to the gesture to activate the keypad. Feels a little annoying. That said, all it's functionality is great. It's not a concern for me, but will mention you must set codes manually through the lock. There is no app to set codes.
