Fairly sturdy, very comfortable, but mine unfortunately came with a flaw.
I've been looking for a comfortable office chair for quite a while now. I've gone to different local stores to try them out, but unfortunately there aren't many to choose from in stores in my area (they're all really cheap). So that led me to take a chance and order online. The problem with ordering a chair online, or anything that needs to fit your body (like clothes) is that you really need to try them out before shelling out the cash. So I took a gamble and ordered a few. The first two that I had ordered I had to return because the holes weren't lined up, or the seat bracket was from a different model, etc, etc. It hasn't been a good experience. I remember sweating my butt off trying to put these things together only to find out the problem wasn't me, but the chair itself. So frustrating. In one instance, I even took very clear photos of the problems and sent them to the manufacturer's support email, and the manufacturer still sent me the wrong replacement parts in the mail. So frustrating! Anyhow, this is the 3rd chair that I had ordered. Right away I knew the build quality was going to be better than the first two because it weighed more. Setup was really easy. The directions were clear, and there's really only a few parts. But... of course there has to be a problem. The screw holes for one of the arms lose their catch as if the thread inside the side of the chair has a problem. When you try to tighten the screws, something skips and then they get loose again. I'm so fed up at this point (having gone through 3 chairs) that I think I'm just going to try and live with it. I can tighten the arm enough that it's fairly sturdy. I think there's a warranty (but haven't looked into it yet), so I'll use it until the arm can't stay tightened and hopefully they'll be able to replace the parts that are needed. But other than yet another frustrating problem with an office chair, it's actually one of the most comfortable chairs I've ever sat in. The leather is nice, it looks to be upholstered very well and the color looks like it could work with any style office. This is a Big & Tall chair, but I'm not very big 5'9' 180lb, but I really like the big feel. I think I just like a chair that holds up well, you definitely don't need to be big and tall to enjoy this chair. But I'd say if you're 5'6" or under, your feet might not reach the floor on the lowest settings. I got lucky and my feet can lay flat on the floor on the lowest setting (but just barely). Again, it's just unfortunate about the arm of the chair. I was hoping that the 3rd chair would have been the perfect one, but seriously, at this point, I think all office chairs have some issues. I'm not sure why office chairs aren't a more serious business these days given the amount of office jobs we have all over the world. I wish there were more manufactures that focus solely on office chair quality. I know there are European companies that do, but those chairs are over $1000 and some are even $3000+, which makes very littles sense given the number of people in the world who sit at a desk for work. If you have a bad chair, you could be seriously damaging your body over time. Mostly you don't notice until it's too late (when you get older). I probably would have given this chair 5 stars if it wasn't for the poorly designed arms and the flaw with the threading. But in end, I would recommend this chair over many others. And there's probably a good chance that you won't receive a defective chair like I did. But it's up to you to take a chance. I think a chair at this price range should definitely have better quality control. At the least, check that the screws work!

VERY COMFORTABLE, ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE ARMREST ARE A TAD SHORT. SOLID STRUCTURE, WIDER THAN STANDARD CHAIRS AND MORE COMFORTABLE THAN GAMING CHAIRS.

How to adjust tilt.
I love this chair AFTER my modifications. First, it is very high quality even though I think it is made FOR La Z Boy, not BY La Z Boy. Second, it is VERY large and I'm 6', 40" waist and 235 pounds. I should have bought the regular chair not this larger version. I think this one was rated to 400 pounds. I had recently worn out the cushioning on my old chair so I went with one that appeared to have better materials in the cushioning area. It is heavy and bulky and if you don't need the XL size, then stay with the regular size chairs. Second, following the directions, we had no problems with assembly as others have complained. Third, the chair is naturally tilted further back than I like. In other words, the back is not very close to vertical. Maybe if I was 300-400 pounds and had a much larger belly than I do this would work but I found myself leaning back when I wanted to be straight to work on the computer or my desk. If you look at the front edge of the big mounting plate under the seat, there is a plastic, 20mm (3/4") thick spacer that tilts the bracket to the rear. Remove this plastic spacer and buy 2 shorter replacement bolts and the problem is fixed. I used 8mm x 25mm bolts. Very happy now and much easier than returning the chair.

Not bad, but not La-Z-Boy
If you're expecting La-Z-Boy recliner comfort, this is not the chair that will provide it. Base came with 2 of the 5 wheel support arms bashed in, and one of the arm rests was scratched, but this was obviously shipping damage, and likely would have occurred as the chair aged anyway. The rear of the seat base is fairly stiff, would benefit from additional padding. The front of the seat supports the thighs very well. I'm considerably under the advertised weight limit, so I'm not compressing it to its max at all. Relatively easy to assemble, even comes with the tool to do it! Most difficult part was lifting the heavy chair onto the base, this thing is HEAVY! That and aligning the armrest with the holes, and the unsettling noise the plastic in the chair makes as you tighten down those four screws. Chair is VERY comfortable in the fully reclined position! Too bad you can't work that way, but should be nice for short breaks between emails. Lowest position on the chair is relatively high, definitely designed for 'big and TALL' people. Your feet may dangle if you're under 5'6" Overall not bad, but I'm glad I didn't pay $500 for it. Comparable to other chairs in the $200-$350 price range.
