The butterfly issue

As with the others who have mentioned already, the butterfly wings come folded and easily breaks after putting it back multiple times. Wish they could make it more flexible since the target users are young ones

Nephew Loves them

My nephew (4) loves these giant bugs. His sister and me, not so much. But so far he just uses them with his dinosaurs as dino bugs. Very detailed and interesting, if a little too realistic.

Cute but not very durable

Some of the wings fell off very shortly after minimal use. These aren't cheap so I had hoped for better quality.

Great replicas but easily broken

I loved the realistic aspect of these replicas, but the plastic is very cheap so the figures come disformed from however they are packed. The legs and attenae do break easily through normal use.

Perfect Montessori type of tool

I bought this set as a Montessori type of learning tool for my 18-month-old daughter. She loves playing with them and it was easy for her to learn the names quickly. Good quality and realistic. Very nice paint jobs too.

Just as others said

I purchased this item for my classroom as we were starting our insect study. I place the item in my classroom on Wednesday and by Thursday morning the butterflies wings had broken off, my student started crying because he “killed “ the butterfly. For $30 this should have never happened! I gave this item 3 stars because the other insects seem to be better constructed. Also the only the company only operates during school hours so it’s almost impossible to call customer service.

Butterfly Wings are UP

The kids in our daycare LOVED these! Who knew kids would love bugs so much. They are large so the children are able to see the details better. My only issue was that the butterfly wings are permanently straight UP, not out as shown in the picture. Of course, they got broke off on day one because the kids were trying to flap their wings. We were able to glue them back on though.

Decent, big bugs

The bugs were a good size for the sale price I bought them for, but they are a harder plastic. The butterfly came with its wings straight up and when my daughter tried to make them "flutter", it snapped off right away. We exchanged for a new set. Butterfly's wings are still pretty upright, but she hasn't tried to make it fly, so it's still in one piece.

Okay

Okay quality. The disappointing part is the butterfly, whose wings came slightly cracked at the base already and are quite stiff and will not last long. It’s unfortunate that the wings aren’t made in spread-out position; it’s more natural for kids to want to play butterflies with a butterfly toy whose wings are spread out. Grasshopper is great looking :)

Not the best.......

I have a few of the Jumbo Learning Resources sets for the children. Sadly this is not the best. The Buterfly wings cracked off as soon as I got them out of the box. The plastic/rubber has no give at all, but just enough to become damaged as soon as a small person tried to flap her wings. Not the best, We still love the farm set of jumbo animals the best, but wouldn't bother with this set. There are much better rubber sets of creatures on the market.

Excellent visual.

Im a teacher and I bought these insects to use as a teaching tool to teach my unit on insects in June. My primary students have a fear of insects. The more they know the less they fear. Large sized colourful insects help them to love insects and look for them during summer months.

Pity about the butterfly!

I really like the Jumbo size and own a few different sets. I rated this 3 star because I was really disappointed with the butterfly - it broke in my hands as soon as i took it out of its wrapping. The plastic is too brittle and snaps at the base of the wing where it attaches to the body. Apart from that, the other insects are great ... and still in one piece!
