Perfect for my application
Installed to switch my exhaust fan in workshop which is behind a filter assembly so it's difficult to tell if it is on. This is a very well made 20AMP switch, the instruction sheet was precise and easy to understand including diagrams for each of the wiring options. I did have to photograph the sheet on my phone and up-size it a bit but that is my eyes, not their fault. Yeah, a little pricey, what isn't nowadays. This is a very nice switch and I suspect will last as long as I need it. I wired as a pilot (indicator light on when load is energized) and single switch, it can also be wired several other ways.

20 amp toggle with built-in pilot light. Easy to install and replace standard toggles. Included wiring diagram show various possible configurations to match your application.

It's a switch
It turns on and off as needed. The pilot light is bright enough for 110v purposes. Make sure it is correctly installed and you should get good long use out if this pilot light switch.

Worked great.
Need to tie a neutral or ground to the switch for the light to work. This was not very clear in the instructions. Added the neutral wire and everything works great. It is a great reminder I have my air compressor on.

Pilot Light for an Air Compressor
The air compressor in my shop is directly below our 2nd floor guest bedroom. There must be a tiny air leak because it frequently starts somewhat unexpectedly any time of day or night, and it's LOUD ... like meteorite has hit the house. Decided recently to add a pilot light switch so that I can turn it on/off somewhat more conveniently. The handle is bright enough to be noticable when I'm turning all the lights in for the evening. Thought about other options (e.g. motion sensor) but this seems to be the best option for now. I stared at the wiring instructions for a while before I decided to just read the other reviews. The instructions that come with the switch are a bit unclear and the font size is so small anyway it's difficult (for me) to read anyway. A similar Hubble pilot light switch costs a bit less but it was out-of-stock at my local big box so I bought this on Amazon. It's rated 20 amps so definitely adequate for most household applications, including a shop air compressor.

A bit pricey, but just what I wanted
Our RV came with an electric/gas combo water heater. The gas turn on switch is with the control panel for most other things like the water pump, lights, check the fluid levels, slide out, etc. However, the electric switch for it is in side the cabinet under the sink. The water heater would often get left on when we returned home and be wasting energy heating up water when we're not in there using it. So, we purchased this switch, cut a hole in the cabinet to the outside and now we can clearly see when the water heater is on!!! Much easier access, too, rather than bending over to get under the small sink cabinets. I suppose the priciness of this item is more supply and demand...how many people ever need one of these? The opposite switch (lighted when the power to it is off like for a switch in a bathroom for you to see at night is only illuminated when the lights are out so you can find it) is much more popular and all that we were able to find at a local hardware store.

Perfect when asking "is it on?"
Our roof de-icer is connected to a switched outlet, and even with labels for the "on" and "off" position, it was tough to tell at a glance whether the unit was on. This switch has made it perfectly simple to look and know immediately, without turning on the lights or even making it all the way down the basement stairs. Much simpler to keep from forgetting to turn it off, too - the light makes a perfectly visible reminder. Can't comment on installation, as I had our electrician do that, though it seemed to go quickly and simply enough. She mentioned that it was nice to have a solid 20-amp switch for just this kind of application, and she plans on keeping it in mind to recommend to others. :)

Well-built for heavy loads
I have found the quality of this line of Leviton products is beyond reproach. It comes with clear instructions for various wiring schemes. Color-coded terminals eliminate guesswork. Installation is easy. The red indicator needs a neutral connection, so this switch is suitable when installed upstream of the load, or when installed downstream and the box is fed by a 3-wire cable (black, white, and red), as the code now requires. The switch indicator will not work if the switch is installed downstream of the load in a box fed by a 2-wire cable (black and white).

Expensive switch
Light in switch knob doesn’t light. Not worth my time to return it. Based on the box it came in, appears to have been returned before, which makes it even worse.
