they require a hub, I use hubitat and the plugs always work very time quickly, when I use the hubitat ui or dash boards. When using Alexa voice control they fail to work. It take two or three time repeating commands to control device. Alexa is not reliable way to communicate with them.

Outlet

I have installed a number of GE/Enbrighten Z-Wave outlets but decided to give Leviton a try. Its outlet worked for a little over one year. Now the uncontrolled outlet works, the Z-Wave outlet does not, the control button does nothing, the unit has lost connection to my Z-Wave network and will not reconnect. I have long experience with Z-Wave and have tried all the fixes. The thing is broken. While it was working it worked fine, though the control button is mushy. Maybe I simply got a lemon but I'm not taking a chance; I've never had an issue with GE units and some of mine are five years old. Next time I'll know better than to be disloyal.

Stopped Working After Two Years

I purchased four of these Z-Wave outlets over a period of several years. Each one worked fine for 2-3 years, then it dropped off the network - never to be controlled again. I expected that an outlet costing almost $50, from a reputable company like Leviton would have provided a longer service life. I thought that I was paying for quality. I am going with add-on adapters. They don't look as nice, but I have over 10 of them and they haven't died yet and are obviously much easier to install.

I wouldn't recommend it

I had this Zwave outlet installed for about 3 months and have never had a good experience with it. It often goes offline when paired with my Ring alarm. Even when it is online, every month or so I have to turn the breaker off and back on to get it to start working. When it is in a non-functional state it shows online and responds to Zwave commands but the relay never toggles. It has nice screw terminals and is easy to install, its chunky but all of the charger/smart outlets are unless its going in a very full box you shouldn't have any issues installing it (just using it...) Big regret buying this outlet as its past the return window and I wouldn't give it away to anyone I like.

DON'T WASTE YOU MONEY!!

I have a multiple number of these installed and they all do the same thing! They randomly lock up and you have to turn off the power to them to get them to work again. Happens constantly. I could understand if it was 1 out of 8 but all 8 do it. I have reached out to tech support multiple times with no response.

This has been a solid device to date.

Generally I really like most Leviton products. I had purchased several of the previous generation of non-Z-Wave Plus receptacles and found them to be a big disappointment. I was reluctant to buy this product as a result. I am impressed that, unlike the previous receptacles, this joined my hub easily and has been a solid performer ever since. The only negative note I can make is how loud the click is when the relay engages. This is much more noticeable than other brands of receptacle I have in the home.

Home Assistant works with this!

Using a Pi, Home Assistant and zwave stick, this outlet works PERFECTLY. know that the bottom is not switched, the top is. Perfect add on to my smart home.
