Baby easily takes them Off

My baby wore these for our holiday trip to Michigan and Chicago where the temps were as low as 20s. He was about 10.5M at the time, he has pretty big hands and they fit the length but seemed a bit too loose. I put them on him for a couple of walks outside and his hands felt toasty warm when we got back in and I took them off! Performance is good IF your baby keeps them on! My guy easily was shaking them off his hands. A Velcro strap or button closure to tighten them up would make these 5 stars. The magnet is for keeping the mittens together when they’re not being worn.

Fit well, Very warm...Wish they had a String!

These mittens are perfect for my 9 month old. They fit will and give him plenty of room to move his hands around. I do wish they came on a string and am considering just sewing one in to make them perfect. The thing is, he doesn't love wearing mittens since he sucks his two fingers to self-soothe, so he ends up biting the end and pulling one hand out to get to his fingers. We live in a big city and therefore are out in the stroller quite a bit where he needs to wear them. But when he takes one off it has often fallen out of the stroller and (so far) I've been lucky enough to see this and grab it, but I fear it's only a matter of time before we lose one on the streets. The magnetic connectors are helpful I suppose, but they just keep them together when I toss them in the diaper bag, which I guess is helpful, but a string would do the same thing. I tried other mittens on strings and they were way too small, so the fit of these is great, but the functionality is a little lacking especially for a baby.

SUPER small and odd customer service at Magnificent Baby

I purchased these mittens to match the Magnificent Baby coat that I purchased locally, which I love. I took the advice of other reviews and ordered the 18-24 month size for my 13 month old. These mittens are so small and one mitten is wider than the other as another reviewer mentioned. If you are just ordering these because they are cute and stick together for storage/washes then they are fine besides the size. However, the main reason for my purchase was to try to keep my daughter from biting off her mittens. These featured a magnet at the cuff along with magnets on the cuff of the jacket so I was hoping that the magnetic attraction would at least deter her from removing them. Well sadly, with the way the magnets are sewn in the cuffs of the jacket only one mitten works with both interior sleeve cuffs to keep them tucked in and the other mitten works only if the outside of each piece were facing each other. The magnets in the jacket should have been sewn with opposite polar ends facing the inside of the cuff to create the magnetic pull with each mitten (which have the magnets sewn with opposite ends facing out so that they can be attached to each other). I called Magnificent Baby's customer service to check if indeed the jacket was supposed to work with these mittens and my conversation was very odd with the woman I spoke to. She sighed quite a bit as if I was a troublesome customer and in the end offered to work with my local retailer to exchange the coat, however she made me feel like it was going to be an inconvenience. She said she could try to contact the wholesaler for me and sighed about it so I felt weird and offered to call myself and she said that would be better. She didn't even sound like she knew for sure if the coat magnets were sewn incorrectly, but rather I should just try another coat. I'm assuming the magnets were sewn incorrectly but she made me less confident in their product. Magnificent Baby sounds like a neat, small company which should give even more reason to have awesome customer service. After my phone conversation, I decided the mittens were too small anyway to even worry about exchanging the coat. Will just be returning these.

Soft and cozy, but not too small

A lot of reviews say that these run very small, and that people are getting the 18-24 month size for their 4-month-olds… I found that a bit extreme, but just to be on the safe side, I preemptively ordered the 18-24 for my 6-month-old. Well… they're huge! I don't think they run small at all. Or if they do, it's not by much. I really like them otherwise so I won't return them, but will save them for next year and order a smaller size for now. Another thing people are mentioning is that the mittens are uneven or one is a bigger size than the other. That's not the case with the mittens I received either. The two are exactly the same size, and they are even and symmetrical. The lining fits nicely inside, it's not too big or too small. The mittens are very soft and cozy, and seem like they'll be warm. There's an elastic at the wrist to keep them on. That's my only complaint - I wish there was another way to fasten them on, like a strap or snap buttons, something adjustable. I'm not sure the (loose) elastic will be enough to keep them on my baby's hands once she learns how to pull them off. But that's not a deal breaker for me. I can always sew some snap buttons on, or ties, or something.

Cute, practical baby mittens

Haven’t had a chance to use them yet as our baby hadn’t arrived, however, they seem warm and thick! They appear to be stretchy enough for newborns (around the wrist) but not sure how long they would fit (ie: up to 3 months maybe?! Guess it depends on babies size). The magnets are pretty cool and they seem to work well, not too strong but they keep the mittens together. As of now, I’m very happy with this purchase!

Cute, Cozy & Warm

I love these mittens for my 7-month-old! He definitely has the ability to pull things off his hands, but he leaves these put. They are tight enough that they don't come right off when he first pulls on them, so then he leaves them alone. They are lined on the inside with a cotton material, so they keep his hands super warm. Many times his hands are sweaty after removing the mittens, which means they are keeping his hands toasty outdoors. The magnet feature made for keeping the mittens together can be difficult to use since the magnets are small and can be hard to locate. I don't usually use this feature since I just store them inside his hat, but this could be an issue for someone needing to keep them fastened together. Overall, these are well-made and functional mittens.

Wonderful Mittens

Delivered promptly so for that they receive 3 stars. Nice soft material for the outside but just ordinary cotton lined in the inside. They'll do for the winter but definitely not worth 16 bucks. Wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a good cold weather mitten , suitable for Temps that may go down to 5 degrees ( mild west coast Vancouver winters) anything colder babies hands will probably stay cold. Would not purchase again.
