What's the difference between the BN and EPBN Model?

I don't own this yet, so my star rating is only made as it is a prerequisite to submitting a review. Moen didn't make it easy... but I figured it out. They're the same thing in terms of fit and finish... but the EP stands for "Eco-Performance". This is Moen's "greener" version, in that it has a 1.5 gpm flow rate vs the 2.5 gpm of the straight BN (Brushed Nickel) model. They claim that they've engineered the nozzle jets in their EP versions to increase velocity so that there is no reduction in water pressure, while achieving 32% water savings over their non-EP models. I wish someone could write a review about that... because I have to admit that I'm skeptical. -------------------- Update 9/30/2017 I did end up purchasing two of the low-flow version (EPBN) of this item. Absolutely LOVED them. I recently had a house built, but these weren't an option from our builder even though they put in Moen fixtures. I'll eventually be swapping out the master shower head to this one.

Rain shower pressure and great look

Works well and I'd say it is water pressure of a typical rain shower head. It is not that powerful but may be a bit more powerful than other rain shower heads. I have not looked in to removing the pressure reducer ring inside the head. I had to buy the Moen 123815BN 8-Inch Shower Arm, Brushed Nickel as the 6-inch one in came with was too short and caused the head to drip over the tub faucet. Even the 8-inch is too short and drips on to the faucet but is better. Be careful and use a lot of cloth/cushion over your wrench when tightening the head and arm as it will scratch. Overall guests have loved the shower and stated it's light and like a spa.

Very well made and looks fantastic

Beautiful fixtures and heavy. Very well made and look forward to using these for years to come. Kind of sad that at the price point it doesn't include the valve, but not a big deal. Super easy to install and looks great. With hard water like we have it is more difficult to maintain the beautiful look of these fixtures, but by polishing/waxing every few weeks it seems to hold up. At $400+ I would hope these would have better stain resistance, but it's a high quality product regardless.

Really great showerhead and handle

These are fabulous pieces, especially the shower head and handle. The shower head sprays with just the right amount of pressure and it provides a really nice and relaxing shower. I also love the handle which feels good in your hand and operates really easily and well. The tub spout is quite a bit bigger than I imagined and does look a little overwhelming in my tub. I would have rather had something slightly smaller and less hefty.

VERY HIGH QUALITY!

Solid heavy gauge metal. This is not a low quality set. Very impressed. I think this set is worth the money.

don't be afraid

not much of a handy person here but was able to switch from the old style moen to something a little more contemporary. Took less then an hour and no special tools required.
