It is a great face shield for the price, comfortable, light weight and hasn't fogged up yet. The only draw backs I see with this one compared to mor expensive brands is the ease of adjustment and it won't stay flipped up

Can't beat for the price

As an electronics hobbyist, solder splashes are a real and dangerous concern. I wear prescription glasses, and have yet to find a pair of safety glasses which I can wear comfortably over my glasses. But even more so, I recently had a slash which struck my chin, so even if I was wearing safety glasses, they would not have helped. Hence, a full face shield. For the price of this, you really can't beat it. If you are a professional, or otherwise need to wear a face shield during a full working shift, this is probably not the product for you. For an hour or so, during a project, this is a great thing to have. While I can find no real complaints, a few nitpicks come to mind, but not enough to reduce my rating. Apparently my head is smaller than most people's, so even at the smallest and tightest straps settings, it's marginally loose. I might try to pad it with an old sock or something. As shipped, it was simply placed into a box with no shipping material. Be VERY careful when you open the box, do NOT use a knife or other box cutter. The actual shield was directly below the packing tape, and while I tried to be careful, even then I slightly scarred the shield while opening it. The protective coating ate most of the scarring, and what is visible will be in my extreme periphery vision, but even so. There is protective coating on both sides, one side being tinted, so make sure you peel both off before use. The shield is detachable, which implies it could be replaced, but I don't know if there does exist a replacement. Even given these, for $10, for the added safety, 5 stars is right.

Does NOT come with a face shield like the description claimes

It looks like it would do a good job (based on the construction of the head mount) but it DOESN'T COME WITH THE FACE SHIELD! And at the time I ordered mine, Amazon did not sell a shield that fits the head mount....

Limited usefulness. Non-standard shield.

I bought this just to try it, and can not use it for metalworking. The shield is a full inch shorter than a standard Sperian type shield3M AO Safety/3M Tekk 90028 Professional Faceshield , and even they don't really keep particles from coming up from underneath. So for preventing straight on flying debris, this one is adequate. But not much more. The real deal-breaker is that the shield attaches to the mask in a proprietary way. So you can't buy a handful of standard shields to replace it. Nor did I see any on Amazon. You drop it, scratch it, and you have to throw the whole thing away. It is light and comfortable to wear. The shield is very thin compared to Sperian type masks. I would not consider it high-impact resistant. So I don't recommend this one for much of anything, except maybe the reviewer that rides a scooter in winter. Even then, their are better masks out there for a few dollars more. I just splurged on this oneSperian Protection S8500 Bionic Face Shield , which really comes down and covers your chin area. And it's surprisingly light. That may be more than you want to pay, but I bet eye surgery can run into some big bucks.

works great

I use this at work as a dental assistant, the adjustable straps make for a comfy fit and the little foam strip works ok as padding on the forehead. I find the shield offers full face protection while being light enough that I quickly adjusted too it's weight and no longer notice anymore. Maybe it's because I wear prescription lenses and find regular safety glasses over top of those to be uncomfortable, but this is a great option and by far the best one I've encountered providing even more safety then the typical safety glasses.

Sticky business

I chop a lot of branches into small pieces to pack my trailer more densely prior taking them to the dump. Of course, I wear safety glasses, but after having a sharp piece stick in my cheek, I opted for full face protection. The mask rings loudly when a branches hit the front plate and serve as a constant reminder of the pain and injury I have avoided. Also works well when weed whacking with a string trimmer. Some of the grassland here also has small cactus hidden in it and the last place you want that is in your face. This was the lowest cost unit and will probably last as long as more expensive products.
