Hard hitter right out of the box!
This gun is pretty awesome. Bought a pair on sale the other day during Nerf's Deal of the Day so they only cost me $10.99 each. I purchased them with plans to mod them sooner than later. Gotta say though, these guns look, shoot, and feel great right out of the box. I'm fairly impressed. I've watched a bunch of videos online featuring modifications you can do with them, none of which too are too complicated. Some of the best mods include removing the AR (air restrictors), removing the posts, replacing the spring, and adding 1/2 inch cpvc tubing to switch over to the Elite Darts. This in turn allows better distance and FPS. I like this mod and it's probably going to be the one I do. However, right out of the box, these Mega Darts are pretty sweet. So sweet in fact that I'm wary to even switch over to the Elite Darts via the barrel modification. The Mega Darts hit hard and will hurt. I wouldn't go into any Nerf wars or showdowns with the intention of head shots. The CycloneShock is fairly powerful within 20 feet. Between 20-30 feet, these darts start to stray from their original course and are a bit inaccurate. Still pleased, though, just from the sheer power of this gun. Nerds, kids, adults that need a little bit of Nerf play in their lives will all find this gun to their liking. Oh, and before I forget, Worker actually makes an Elite Dart barrel mod that can be inserted and removed so you can interchange between both Elite and Mega darts. I believe they're sold on eBay. From the video I watched, though, that alone did not make a big difference in terms of firing distance. To reiterate, this is a cool gun. It feels solid. It doesn't feel light and crappy at all. It looks awesome. I think so anyways. AND it's a powerful Nerf sidearm that anyone can enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

Dirty Harry's NERF gun
Quite an awesome blaster! Shoots MEGA darts powerfully and accurately. It rotates on the prime (not the trigger pull) and the MEGA darts are much larger and heavier than standard Elites, so darts go where you point the blaster. It's powerful and gives a bit of recoil with a low pitched 'pop' sound kind of like a NERF AS-20/Rapid Fire 20's sound. As pistol-style blasters go, it's got plenty in the firepower department and a fair bit of intimidation factor for opponents. This thing won't fit in any of my custom Strongarm holsters, but I didn't expect it to. It's perhaps 20% bigger than a Strongarm - most of that is in the added width. The two handle very similarly otherwise. For those wondering what the differences are: apart from ammo type, the Strongarm has slam-fire and this has larger ammo. They're pretty evenly matched otherwise. Some gametypes make MEGAs count for more 'damage' or something, and the Cycloneshock has the Strongarm beat there; the Cycloneshock still fires fairly fast and is much more accurate at range. One area in which the Strongarm wins, though, is sling mounts - the Cycloneshock has none. You'll have to get modding if you want to sling this - or holster it for that matter, as I have seen no holsters for it. Because this blaster has the sort of handle it does, I thought it might be able to stand up on its own like a few others I have - but nope. Not a complaint, just noting it down. I got this blaster on sale for 1/2 off. Before, I probably wouldn't have bought it at full price - but now that I have it and have used it, I can recommend it even at that price. You get a lot for the money compared to the other MEGA blasters.

Great gun, shoots pretty far
This has been a fun gun. I got this for my office as we have a fun environment and get into nerf battles. I got this gun to be the ultimate revenge power, ha ha. It is indeed fun. I don't know if I'd recommend this for kids or not. It does pack a punch with it's big darts. But, the nice things is they don't actually sting like the little ones becuase the power is spread out a bit with the bigger head. So, they may actually be ok for kids, you just don't want to probably be hit in the face like one. This gun isn't the best for a quick shot off, especially if you don't keep it loaded, as you need to load a bullet, and then turn the barrel over one spot before you can cock the gun to shoot. That is probably the only bad thing about this (and obviously, that's a small price to pay for a nice, big, sweet gun). This thing goes off like a cannon. Everyone in the office knows when it's come out. I'd highly recommend this. It shoots far, and pretty straight (like all guns, it starts to get off a bit as darts get older). You definitely don't have to offset much for drop, especially in an office setting as it shoots so fast and hard that it doesn't have time to drop down. All in all, it's a great gun, and a lot of fun, especially for the price.

Finally, a case is made for the Elite Mega series!
Every once in a while, a blaster comes out that is either impressively powerful, ergonomically advanced, or breaks the mold for its own product line. In the case of the Elite Mega CycloneShock, this beast does all three in stride. From the pure performance perspective, the CycloneShock (which is an awesome name, IMO) has both excellent range and high shot power, which is only amplified by its consistency. Even better, the revolver design has 6 rounds ready to go, and the priming handle is large and works with a satisfying clacking noise. The CycloneShock is also comfortable to use, with a large handle and guard, and can be carried as a pistol or two handed as needed (that foregrip is large enough for a solid two hand stance). This blaster is suitable for both right and left handed Nerfers thanks to its neutral design. Finally, the blaster just looks cool! The red and grey "Mega" color scheme really shines in this bold design, and the orange accents actually work here to provide eye-catching details. If I had to nit-pick the CycloneShock, I'd likely bemoan the fixed revolver chamber (which can occasionally slow down reloading) and its somewhat heavy weight in the "large pistol" class, but those are small gripes for the overall package. Simply put, this is the best Elite Mega blaster Nerf has made to date, essentially supplanting its peers in nearly every respect. A must-buy for all Nerf enthusiasts!
