Does not function properly

For the price of this thing you'd expect it to work properly. It was only after drilling a hole for putting it on the door and getting the whole thing installed that we found out it does not work right. When the thumb press is pushed down the latch bolt does not fully engage and prevents the door from opening. It was only after jerryrigging it I got it to work. I was really upset about that, especially because of the price. It looks good though.

Where to begin??? From a distance it is beautiful, up close it looks cheap. The plastic template it refernces, isn't plastic, its the paper one in the pic so don't waste your time looking like we did. My beautiful solid oak door has predrilled holes & is a standard 1-3/4". But the "template" did not line up. The predrilled holes are round as most all door knobs are, except for this one, again see picture. The inside part of the door handle & internal pieces are not round but the dead bolt is. Now for the plates, they are also not round so we had to chisel them to have square corners. Needless to say, my beautiful oak door looks mangled. Once the handle & knob were finally installed; the knob will not set straight when you turn it, but it will straighten up if you turn it back straight. However, the biggest problem with this product is, you can't enter from the outside!! The lever you push down to make the tongue recede into the door, doesn't work!! The tongue will NOT go all the way back into the door to allow it to pass the strike plate! Lord help me! You can open the crooked knob on the inside & the tongue will recess all the way in. Our contractor says that the piece inside the handle is not strong enough to move the lever or something. Anyway it's internal & we can't fix it. Oh and bonus! The inside plate around the handle is not wide enough to cover the predrilled hole! Super bonus?! I was so excited about getting the beautiful & very expensive knob that I threw the box away. Yes I know, dumb. I contacted support and a complete replacement was sent out, and it was the SAME WAY!!! Now I am stuck with 2 beautiful looking, expensive, crap sets of handles and a mangled door!
