It doesn't quite sink into the skin but forms an occlusive layer. -The container is in a plastic, opaque, press down pump bottle. It protects the ingredients from light degradation by being opaque. The pump dispenser protects from bacteria degradation. -The pump does not over-dispense and waste product. (You must twist the pump up to activate it so it will press down.)
