Wouldn’t recommend
I owned an earlier version of this product several years ago that finally needed a replacement and brought this one over the 2022 holiday season. It was useless. It’s WAY too rigid. I can’t get it on my spout. I ended up needing to cut it to get it on and off to fit. The earlier version came with a extra piece to keep water from leaking out the spout at the wall, this one did not. This one added extra holes in the place where it snaps close. It doesn’t stay closed as well as the old one. Water sprays out the back, I’m sure it’s because I cut it but I had no other option, I tried to get it pliable with warm water first. It never helped. Overall, it was a total waste of money but my kids we too excited to disappoint so we didn’t want to return it. I highly recommend not purchasing it. These companies are just a waste anymore.

Fun for my child
We love the idea of it being a hippo amd our child loved seeing it, down fall is if you don't have the right faucet, it back flows the water,

Issues
While this product is very cute. There’s no hole in the top, so it has to be removed before every shower.

Great but missing something
I absolutely how cute this spout cover is. HOWEVER, I do wish there was a diverter hole. We ended up making one ourselves. But, I definitely think it would be better with one already put in it. Also, when the mouth is closed, and it’s supposed to shoot water out his nose holes, water just rushes out the back of the spout cover too. Water goes everywhere! So, it’s great for the downspout use and coverage but, could definitely use some improvement!

I’d Recommend
2 small issues for us. Our water pressure is immense, so the hippo doesn’t want to stay on the spout (This isn’t the products fault). The last issue was the products fault. The opening has like what you’d see in a plunger and it was a struggle to fit the opening over my spout, but it does in fact go over it with some effort. Overall I’m satisfied with the product however. It’s durable, easy to care for and clean, and my son adores it so much that it isn’t just a bath time toy (:

So cute
We love how cute this is. It protects my 14 month old son from the sharp faucet, and it has a “mouth” that can be closed and water will spray out the nose holes which he really likes. We had to cut the back open more to fit our spout but it turned out fine. We’re now doing the bathroom in hippos out of inspiration!

Spout cover
I do not recommend this for bath tubs. It has no hiow in the top for the shower pull knob.

Doesn't fit well, doesn't work well
The concept of this faucet cover is what made me purchase it and look past the additional shipping fee (which I'm not a fan of paying as a Prime member). However, that's about it. It's made if a very sturdy and not too flexible plastic. Big issue: in order to get it to fit on the faucet, I had to cut a small piece off the inner lip, which only slightly helped. To make it easier to put on and remove, I should cut more, but it may make it work even worse. What sold me on this was the design that water pours out from the hippo's mouth and if you close it, water will fountain out of the nostrils. Sounds fun, right?? It was the only faucet cover with a dual feature, so I bought it. Well, it doesn't work. Because there is not a perfectly water-tight seal, when the hippo mouth is closed, water gushes out the back and barely sprays out the nostrils, and makes a huge flood-y mess in the process. To remedy this, the back half of the hippo should be a flexible silicone material that would 1. not need to be cut to put on and remove from the faucet, and 2. create a seal that enables both water pouring functions to be effective. I'm keeping the stupid thing because I've cut it, and it's kinda cute, but it's features don't work and that really stinks. So, save your money and buy the standard whale faucet cover.
