Large, great for day use, not comfy for hiking

We specifically ordered this backpack for a trip to the zoo to which we wanted to take food and keep it cool. The backpack is thick and sturdy feeling, but it’s not comfortable enough to take hiking (as the video suggests). The top of the straps are sewn onto the backpack low enough to allow the top to roll down, but I also found that this meant the backpack constantly pulled away from my shoulders, contributing to the slight discomfort of wearing it. Would probably try the other style (no roll-down too) if I were to buy it again. It did keep our ice very cold, so from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on a warm day in July the ice blocks were pretty much frozen solid at the end of the day. The bag is very large and holds a lot of food and extra water, and we like the additional pocket for other items. The water bottle pockets are wide and tall and worked perfectly for oversized water bottles for the day. Overall it works for short trips and if you’re not wearing it over a long period of time, so we’ll look forward to using it for boat tours and car trips with short hikes.

Sturdy and well built

Takes over-packing like a champ! External zipped and unzipped sections are very helpful. But remember that the inside is one large expandable compartment without dividers -- would have given it 5 stars if it had some means to separate cold storage with, say, clothing. Ideally you will need separate containers for different kinds of items. On the other hand, the single compartment does provide maximum flexibility of use. Overall highly recommended.

Roomy

This is a great roomy cooler backpack. My husband uses it for work. It seems sturdy. The one drawback is the snap that holds the top handle together has already torn through the strap.

Perfect cooler backpack.

I really like this cooler backpack made by the picnic time brand. It is great for carrying items that need to be kept cool on a picnic. Highly recommend.

Cute but not leak proof.

I bought because it was cute and it does hold a lot, but if you put actual ice in, like the pictures show, it starts leaking within minutes. Then continues to leak. Disappointed because I was hoping to bring this to keep some lunch and drinks cool on day long river adventures on the kayak, but I’ll have to find something that keeps the ice in better. You can’t even bring it on a hike because it drips cold water down your legs constantly.

Pack that Picnic!

This backpack can hold a lot. Serving utensils and napkins can go in the small outside pocket, plenty of room for food and wine in the insulated large main bag.

Decent bag

Lots of cooler space which is great, but shoddy craftsmanship on the stitching and after receiving the wrong bag the first time I ordered and having to return for the right one, I'm not very impressed overall.

Good materials, horrible for your back

I reeeealy wanted to like this bag, but man, what a disappointment! The materials seem very good (hence the two-stars), but when you add about 10 cans and two large ice packs and put it on your back, it's just the worst. Poor construction makes the backpack bend, and it pulls on your shoulders and presses on your lower back, leaving your mid-back exposed and doing nothing to balance the load. Carrying this to the park was painful, and this is not a cheap bag, so I'm just ultra-disappointed. I wish I could return it, but it's too late now. Lesson learned!

Love it.

Perfect for hiking, picnics, long car rides. This bag holds so much food and drinks. Love how tall the bag rolls out to fit lots of stuff. The two side pockets are perfect for holding one water bottle each. The front pocket is big enough to hold a few small lunch sized paper plates. I've put ice in the bag with no leaks.
