Good replacement for 144200

I had previously purchased another belt from Amazon described as a replacement for part number 144200, but it was too short and the mower blades were self engaging. I returned that belt and bought this one. Now the mower works fine. A couple tips for anyone planning to replace the mower drive belt: 1. On my Craftsman 42" mower you should definitely remove the deck the first time you replace one of these. You only have to lower the deck and remove about a half dozen retaining clips, then you can slide the mower out and see how to un-thread the old belt and re-thread the new belt back in. It is possible to do this with the deck on, but threading it back on can be frustrating. 2. While you have the deck off, replace the transmission drive belt which rarely gets any attention since you can't see it. In my case the drive belt looked like it was just about to break.

good, perfect fit for our Craftman 19 hp riding lawn mower

we have tried many different types and so far these have out done the other brands. We have spent months trying to get our mower up and running. New alternator, New mow blades and belts and battery. Now that it finally done it running great and can handle more of the thicker grass then before.

Perfect fit for 144200 belt

I bought this for an old Craftsman 42" mower (OEM part number is 144200). It seems to be a perfect fit: works fine with no slippage when the blades are engaged and doesn't move when they're disengaged. The original belt is 88 3/8" long, just as is this Oregon belt. I've purchased other belts that are purported to be 144200 replacements (P*x for example) which are listed as 88" and sure enough are too tight. I've had good luck with Oregon products (mower blades, chainsaw blade, and now this belt) and they are now my go-to brand.

Right for 42" Craftsman Riding Mower

I have only mowed for a few hours since installing but so far it looks good. For my 42" deck Craftsman mower this length is critical. I recently tried an 88 inch belt and it was too tight. This 88-3/8 inch length is perfect

Perfect Belt, Perfect Fit!

This belt is an exact replacement for the Craftsman P/N 144200. The length is correct, and it is the correct type of belt for a clutched application. Highly recommended!

It takes a couple of weeks to get to you but it does the job and fits the drive-on we have perfectly. It's an old banger we have too.

I was buying standard V belts for my mower, boy was I wrong. This belt is very strong and hasn't slipped at all, it powered through 3 foot tall grass.
