A heavy duty sponge holder

I needed to replace a sponge suction cup holder that has served me well over the years. I wanted a similar style as the one I had rarely fell off the side of the sink on its own. I personally would have been more than happy with an identical holder. However, since I could not find one like that any longer, this OXO was the next best choice. The OXO sponge holder is certainly very well constructed and is much more heavy duty than what I need it to be. There is not a single flimsy part on it. OXO uses a single large suction cup to attach the holder securely to your sink. It does so via a moveable handle meant to help remove any air under the suction cup, thereby increasing its suction strength. The handle mechanism makes their sponge holder deeper overall, so it does extend the holder a bit more into your sink. To account for the increased depth, OXO attaches a metal frame to the actual sponge holder part, allowing the user to remove the sponge holder from its suction cup if you need more space in your sink. The addition of the metal frame however adds greatly to the overall weight of this sponge holder, and thus the greater need for the additional suction power this holder provides. It honestly is a well thought out holder, and I would purchase it again if I needed another one in the future. It looks great in a stainless steel sink, as it easily blends in with the sink.

Needed a Sponge Holder that Would Stick on a Composite Stone Sink

I had an old suction sponge holder that kept falling off a composite stone double-bowl sink. I found this one on Amazon and liked everything about it. Mainly, I have always had good luck with suction devices that has a lever, like this does, that enhances the suction. My wife buys scrub daddies kind of sponges which are kind of thick and I was concerned whether it would hold the sponge. It does. Bigger concern is whether the suction would hold on composite stone. The since is pretty smooth but not like stainless steel. Well, it works great! At first, I would wash the area where the soap holder goes then dry it thoroughly before applying suction. I found that leaving it wet works just as well. Yes, you need to re-apply it now and then to keep it tightly affixed. But I do so maybe once every 3 weeks or so. No big deal. It looks great, is easy to clean, works better than I thought, and am very happy. Highly recommend.

Very sturdy, clean way to dry sponge

I purchased this for a cleaner, more space efficient way to store the sponge. Originally I had a little cult bag would catch water and get icky. I like that this allows the sponge to drop dry. Also, you just wash the entire piece when you think it needs to be cleaned and voila it’s done. I love the quality of OXO products.

Better than my last one but still falls off

Definitely better than my last sponge holder that had three standard suction cups, but I still find this one on the bottom of the sink once in awhile despite having cleaned the sink wall really well before adhering it.

Good product but the holder is a bit small

Well-made and the suction is strong but the suction 'switch' can be tripped easily when removing the holder for cleaning, not a big deal though. One suggestion is the holder can be either a bit longer or wider for two sponges; one for pots and pans, another for dishes, then it would be perfect.

Good quality but the suction cup mechanism releases after about one week

Its well made and fairly discreet, but like so many other reviews, the suction mechanism is inadequate - repeatedly releasing after about one week. I cleaned the area very thoroughly, including with alcohol- it stayed on longer but still released. Ensuring that the suction cup and sink is dry before attaching certainly helps it stay on longer. We use it to dry silverware and utensils. It works but is not really designed for that. The sides and dividers are not tall enough. It does work well for what it is designed for - holding sponges, scour pads and sink stopper. In retrospect I would have gone with one that hangs over the divider between double sinks. Having said all that, we still use it daily. We just reattach it when it falls off - not a big deal.

Perfect - highly recommended

The materials are great, they don't collect grime and seems like it will last forever. The suction cup works really well and we haven't had to re-stick it once. Really glad I chose this one.

Perfect for small sinks!

The media could not be loaded. I love that the size of the sponge holder is compact. Good suction. It was difficult to figure out how to unhook the case but after watching a video tutorial, it's easy. I honestly don't use that feature because the holder is already much smaller than my previous (see screenshots)
