I have been having a nagging ache in my upper right shoulder for a long time, and eventually, wondered if just correcting my posture would help, so I ordered this SENSESCOLLECTIONS® Posture Corrector for Women And Man. I am 5'6", 180 lbs. I really appreciated the blue resistance band that comes with it; I do use those bands, and you need different kinds depending on how much resistance you need; this one seems pretty strong. And having a posture corrector on while you do your exercises is going to help you to do them "correctly", i.e., without using your body in the wrong way. I must admit that I was not as intuitive as I thought I'd be in getting it set up. I found that the little photos were minimally helpful (as were the instructions); I had to figure it out. I figured out that you have to put the straps thru the buckles in back in such a way that they can be attached by velcro to the shoulder area on the outside (without twisting the straps), which doesn't have actual "velcro" attachments, but the fabric material does seem to hold the velcro ends in place just as well. both sides of the shoulder pieces have this fabric, with some padding. I guess that allows you to attach the straps to whichever side you prefer. I found I was able to attach everything, then put it on ala backpack. I wear it over my shirt, with a light jacket over. it seemed like, as people reported, that, in order to get it tight enough to hold your back straight, you have to endure unpadded straps pressing into your armpits; The first day, I didn't cinch it up tight enough to bother my armpits too much. But the second day, I did cinch it tighter, and found that actually, when cinched up enough, the padded part of the straps does become the major part under your armpits; the unpadded part is farther back, although it does feel like your circulation is getting cut off somewhat. After wearing it for a whole day, I find that it wasn't bothersome to have on all that time, and now, the next day, my shoulder strain seems to be lessened. And my experience was that, if I shifted the whole thing so that it's farther down my back, the back vertical strap goes all the way to my mid-back, giving sufficient back coverage to support most of the back. So, my opinion is that I'm not sure more padding down the straps is necessary, but it might be a nice gesture. Therefore, I will continue to use it, even if it only serves to remind me to straighten up and try to keep proper posture. So, considering the price of it, I'd say this is a decent investment in reminding one to sit up straight, since you no longer have your mother doing that.....
