Works to a Predictable Point
These filters are rated for chlorine removal and sediment filtration with a "notional" reference to other "odors and tastes". There is specific performance DATA for the former two not the last, which would include H2S. That being said, this filter gave me about 5,000 gallons of decent, but not perfect performance for H2S for my well water. This is about 3 months. So for roughly $25 I can live with a little whiff of sulfur every once in a while. I had tried the standard Pentek GAC 10BB first and actually though it had better odor removal initially but it also caved in more quickly just as the specs imply for throughput rating. Nonetheless this beats a chlorine injection system with all it's maintenance headache for H2S oxidation.

excellent filter
My well water is crystal clear now. Previously I used a whole house pleated cartridge filter plus a brita filter for drinking water. The pleated filter lasted 2-3 months but I still needed the brita to remove the metallic taste from the faucet. When I switched to this carbon block filter, I no longer needed to filter my drinking water. I cant say yet how long this filter will last as I just started using it but I can say that the well water from my faucet is pristine with no noticeable drop in pressure. I had 2 water treatment companies tell me that I needed very expensive filtration and softener systems to get rid of rust stains and metallic taste in my water but I tried a "big blue" filter and this cartridge first and am completely satisfied.

What else can you say about a filter. It filters, and I’ve got clean water. I’m happy. I’ll buy again when I need another one.

Did NOT remove chlorine even ONE FULL day.
I am very disappointed with this product. ALL I WANTED was a carbon filter to take out chlorine from my city water. I used to buy 2 1/2" X 10" carbon filters. Until recently they word for about 4 to 6 weeks before chlorine breakthrough. ALL carbon filters I have purchased recently are trash. They have reduced the function of both the 2 1/2" x 10" and also the 4 1/2" x 10" so they no longer remove chlorine. What a waste of pver $35. I am now at a loss what to do. I MUST get rid of the chlorine. I may have to purchase the $400 whole house filter. Chinese JUNK! Theft.

Works well for bad smelling water and sediment.
We really like this filter with the charcoal. It captured a lot of iron and sediment. We had bad smelling water and it cleared up within a day after installing this filter. I don’t think this will completely replace getting a whole house water system, but it doesn’t cost $3,500 either. I have to change this filter more often than one for just sediment to keep water from smelling and turning plumbing black. We’ll see how it goes for the next six months.

Good filter with excellent customer service!
This thing is pretty big and once I found some fittings to go from 1 inch to 1/2 Cpvc installation was a breeze. This is a nice kit as it comes with everything you need to attach it to the wall. Less than 2psi drop from inlet to outlet with filter installed. The real winner here is the customer service. I had a very slight leak at the pressure relief valve and the company emailed me immediately with a resolution. That small issue is the only reason I can't give the product a 5 star rating. I'd give the company a 6 star rating if that were possible.

Didn't work in our system
Unfortunatly, it was a spongy carbon, not hard like our usual filters, and didn't take the odors away. The dimensions were correct. So therefor I have to give it a 1 star.
