Great for my tortoise
After trying many watering systems for my red foot tortoise & failing, I found this. It is the best one yet. She can't tip it over, it holds a decent amount of water, she doesn't step in it as much, she has no issue drinking from it. Finally something that doesn't need to be refilled every day & provides plenty of water for her. Highly recommend for small tortoise & reptiles.

Perfect!
I used this for my bees. I added small rocks in the tray to help them land safely and its a hit! I love it! It does get a little tough to open when dirt gets into the lid, but outside of that, I love this product! And so do my bees!

best bird feeder
We like the glass bottle over the plastics. Only problem is you have to be careful in the winter to not fill too much or it will freeze. In the summer we treat the birds as we would ourselves by filling the jug with ice cubes and then putting the water in. Just be careful to wash the dirt or other things off the place the water comes out for the birds.

Clear visibility of the level of water in container
Easy to use that I like. I am afraid it will break if suddenly falls from the tree during high wind or while handling because it is made of glass. It should have been made with heavy plastic.

So much easier to keep clean!!!
This is so much easier to clean twice a week, the plastic version offered by Perkypets has areas inside plastic bottle that are virtually impossible to clean the algae???!!!!

Great product, but poorly packed for shipping
Great product at a great price. Poorly packaged that caused the metal base to be bent off center.

Love this waterer
We've used this to water our small birds for two years and love it. All of our small birds--nuthatches, finches, goldfinches, juncos, use this water. We have had one break in below freezing weather but found that if we only fill it half full, it can withstand the low temperatures without breakng. We're ordering another.

Very sturdy
The metal tray is much sturdier than the competitors plastic tray.

A nice balance between form and function
Nice little aesthetic design. Very heavy though, in comparison to a screw in dish or a water table for the birds or something along those lines. You'll need a strong hook or a hanging basket frame to support it, or maybe a very taut and well put up washing line. I also recommend buying yourself a carabiner or other hooks of those types in order to hang it properly, because it is glass. You don't want it falling and breaking due to a weak hook or hanging frame! Very nice, anyway. Holds a good amount of water. The dish is a little small, I would prefer a slightly bigger one, since it only really seems to attract the little birds. It's somewhat annoying to operate due to the nature of the water feeder relying on gravity to function, almost impossible to refill it without spillage, but it's still good all the same. Doesn't seem like you could go wrong with it, if you take the necessary precautions. It's definitely nice, unique and interesting.

Older reviews are for a different product !
I'm reviewing the 'Perky-Pet Mason Jar Wild Bird Waterer' a lot of the reviews and photos are for a feeder which is really confusing Next day delivery from Amazon. I had considered putting this on something to create a bird bath but quickly hung it on a hook as recommended, birds were visiting as I walked away. You simply remove the whole thing, turn it upside down, unscrew the bottle from the base, fill it with water and screw it back onto the base and then *quickly* invert it and hang it back up If you're fed up with birds soiling your bird water dish, this is the answer - the birds can perch on the lip and drink but they can't sit in it - awesome

Easy to fill, easy to keep clean
Attractive, pale blue, thick glass reservoir with a nice design incorporated on one side. This screws into the circular (aluminium?) tray into which water trickles from the glass reservoir. To fill the reservoir / jar, unscrew from base and hold under the tap until full. Then screw the base on and swiftly turn the glass reservoir upside down so that the tray is at the bottom. I hang mine on a screw hook which I've screwed into a horizontal branch of my birch tree. This is just above head height and in semi shade. When empty, it's easy enough to take it back to the kitchen sink and clean the inside of the reservoir under the hot tap, using a washing up brush - rinsing - and then refilling. Sounds complicated. but the whole process takes less than 3-4 mins.

Glass breaks!
I bought this rather expensive bird water feeder as it looked so attractive and had good reviews. I hung it on a purpose made bird food holder which has several hooks. In the month I had it I never saw a bird drink from it and I get a lot of birds in my garden. After a few days the water started to go cloudy and then bits of bird seed fell into it .I decided to move it away from the food and hung on a nearby tree. After 2 days the squirrels pushed it to the ground. The sad end to my lovely water feeder. Broken glass!

Good Looking but does not attract the birds
When I first purchased it I thought the birds will be queuing up to use it, how wrong I was I have yet to see one drink from it and now the water is very discoloured (green) perhaps from lack of use? even though I have emptied it out several times with fresh water. By the way this is sited right on a palm tree trunk at head height
