Nice size, perfect for snuggling
The media could not be loaded. This was the closest I could come to matching my 2 other animal print beds. They are the right size for snuggling.

My cats love this bed.
The media could not be loaded. All my cats love this bed. I bought 3 of these Aspen leopard print donut beds over the years and all 3 are still in good condition even after many washings in the washing machine. All my other cat beds have torn in the machine but these are still going strong!

Our 4.5-pound elderly cat adores it!
I admit I was skeptical about getting a bed for our thirteen-year-old cat -- after all, we have beds, couches, and pillows aplenty in our house, and she has no hesitation about using any of them whenever she feels like it. Rosie is ailing, however, and my six-year-old insisted on saving up her own allowance and purchasing the bed herself. It took several weeks for her to save enough, but as soon as she did we hopped online and she chose this one because it was "fancy" and not too expensive. (Kindergarteners have limited budgets, after all.) Wow, was it the right decision! The instant we pulled it out of the box, Rosie the cat creakily jumped into it. (Anyone who knows cats will understand what a big deal it is that Rosie chose the bed over a brand new box.) Even though the bed was on a hard wooden floor in the middle of our living room at that moment, she curled up inside and slept there for the next several hours, so it seems to have enough cushioning on the bottom. (Naturally we didn't move the bed during that time, middle of the floor or no, because everyone knows you don't move a sleeping cat -- especially an old, rickety one -- or else curses be upon you.) The cat bed now lives on my daughter's bed, although it often travels throughout the house, depending on where my daughter is playing. Honestly, Rosie will sleep on a pillow or on a couch or person's bed *almost* as often as she in her own designated bed, but she does love her own special spot. As for quality, I don't expect it to last for decades, but it doesn't need to. It's been a few months now, though, and the bottom and sides are still cushy and soft. The plush is comfortable, and the edges have enough firmness to hold up a sleeping cat's head while still being cushiony. Definitely one of our best investments ever! For photo reference: Rosie (grey with peach splotches) weighs about 4.5 pounds -- very small in stature and quite thin. Basil (all grey) is about 12 pounds and much longer and taller. He can fit in the bed just fine when he tries, but he's a sprawler and can take up half a couch when he feels like it. If he were much bigger he likely wouldn't fit all the way in, though some cats or small dogs might not mind that -- especially since they can rest their heads on the sides. P.S. Confession: It's fun to post photos of your cat on the internet for strangers to see. Is this what I've been missing out on all this time? I must review more cat accessories!

The adult kitties do like this and it's cheaper, but they really prefer the larger size
I just replaced the old cat beds with these Aspen basket-style cat beds. Last year we had the pyramid and cube-shaped cat caves, but after I put those through the washing machine a couple of times, they lost their shape and the bottoms tore out. Therefore, I replaced them with these fully machine-washable basket beds. I couldn't be sure what size we needed, so I bought each size of the Aspen beds available on Amazon: (1) Round self-warming cat bed (19.5"), (2) Rectangular lounger (20x24"), and (3) Round animal print (18"). All of these beds were an instant hit with the cats. In fact, I wanted to throw all the cat beds in the laundry right away to get rid of the new fabric smell, but the cats were parked on the beds from almost the instant they came out of the box. The weather is starting to get cold now, and all the cats are coming into the house and looking for snug places to sleep. I did manage to test the new cats beds in the washing machine and they came out fine (cold-water "normal" wash, tumble dry low heat for a very short cycle - don't use the "more dry" setting, just "normal dry" was enough.) The tag says "fluff dry," but what does that even mean? I'm not sure they're supposed to go in the dryer but they came out fine. The "self-warming" bed with the white fluff inside, and the "rectangular lounger" are the most popular so far. (These are really the same bed, just in a different size.) The "animal print" bed is smaller and less popular, but strangely enough, one of my largest cats seems to prefer the small animal print bed, while the smaller cats like the larger beds. Go figure. Any of these beds will fit cats 7 to 12 pounds, which is a small-medium sized adult cat. If you have a bigger cat, I would recommend the bigger bed. The 20x24" rectangular lounger looks like it would be big enough for a small dog (toy poodle), let alone a cat.
