If your dog needs it, it works!
My chocolate lab is seven and has developed a limp on one of his front legs. My car is kind of high and I noticed he didn’t really want to come out when we got home. I saw the video of how to make him comfortable with the ramp, but I decided to use it right away anyways. He seems to enjoy using it and I couldn’t be happier. The only downside is I pinched my leg when I was unfolding it and have a huge bruise. But I can’t blame that on the product.

Great construct; not so easy to use
Using this to help dog with some coordination difficulty get into the back seat of my SUV. It is too long for that purpose & takes a lot of room on the street end. That also makes it heavier and more of a chore to lift & open. The opening up is quite stiff: am hoping that will improve with more use. The sandpaper nature of the surfacing is quite rough: acts like a high texture nail file. Thinking of gluing some rug treads onto it, as my dog still loses balance & footing. The choice of a smaller model would be my suggestion.

Exactly what my dog needed!
This ramp is a game changer for me and my large mastiff mix senior dog. His back knee got torn and getting him into my Rav4 for appointments was nearly impossible before we got the ramp. He’s not the brightest dog but even so it only took him a few minutes and up and down trials to get the hand of using it. The first couple of uses he did try to jump on to it so I recommend making sure you’re holding it in place as your dog works their way up, but after a while he started using it as intended and we’re all good now. I can tell that he is happy about it and that it helps him and that makes me really glad I got it. I didn’t put anything down on it to help with traction but so far so good for us. I can see how it could be slippery if wet so be cautious about that.

Traction Needs a Boost
The instructions are accurate for training. Take your time and all dogs will get it. We have 5. Only two were able to manage the ramp as is. Once we added the carpet all 5 dogs can easily use the ramp. Took a few treats at first and now it’s just “normal” no treats needed. WARNING be careful to also add a little padding in the door jam cause the plastic edge of the ramp put a tear in the weatherstripping based on how we had to set it on the seat.

Great ramp but ...
All is great with the ramp except the traction on it. It is like extremely coarse sandpaper and wouldn't subject my dog's paws to it. I purchased a $5 floor mat 24x36 and cut it 12"wide and laid it over the harsh surface. I prob would try double sided outdoor rug tape to secure, but wanted to see if she would even use the ramp. I first started letting my dog, 28lbs, get used to the ramp walking on it flat on the ground(no incline). We advanced to an incline of one step. I couldn't train her any further as she unfortunately took a turn for the worst and... well, the ramp was no longer needed???? My suggestion is to have your dog get familiar with using the ramp prior to joint pain getting too bad or weak. I would've only used it for a 2 step incline for her. The quality seems really good esp if u want to keep it outdoors and it's not heavy if u need to move it around or travel with it in the car. One fold and an easy simple plastic lock.

Easy to handle
Although I was only able to get my stubborn bulldog to use it twice so far, it was easy to handle and lightweight. I got it to use after my dog's leg surgery to get in and out of the car. Surgeon didn't want him jumping in and out of the car. Well it was a good idea but he didn't quite agree. Good product though, sturdy.

It’s nothing special but it does it’s job
It’s easy to put up and take down. It holds the weight of my 125lb English mastiff. We have a Durango and it reaches the trunk. It is a bit steep when placed at the trunk of the car which made her weary of going down it so if your dog is similar I’d work with them on it before you actually have to use the ramp.

Overall happy
Two things I would change. 1. It’s a bit steep, I have to hold my boys harness and guide him up (he’s a bit intimated but we’re getting it) 2. I would make it a little wider. I understand they were probably trying to make it small but I feel to a dog it looks like this slim plank they have to walk. Idk, but overall it is such a big help for my boy. Just a few things I’d make different but overall it was worth the purchase to me
