Worth Every Penny

My last pepper mill cost $30. I thought that was a lot, but it claimed that it wouldn't loosen up and change the grind size, so I thought it would be a good purchase. Well, that was a totally false claim. I did some shopping around and found this one. I liked the idea that the grind selector was at the bottom, not the nut on top. The reviews were great. I thought $60 was a lot, but it's made in France. Given the global economy and exchange rate, it was understandable, so I decided to treat myself. BEST PURCHASE EVER! The finest setting is super fine. The coarsest setting could be coarser (think cracked pepper - it's not). I set it on 3 and it's been great. Best of all, it stays on the setting I put it on. I wish they had given it a glossy finish. The matte finish does not give it a super premium look, which it definitely deserves. Also, the amount of pepper dispensed with each twist is far greater than with my old mill, so that's a big plus.

Absolutely Love It!

I bought this pepper mill almost a year ago and it is still going strong. Many reviews have pointed out that the adjustable wooden selecter bottom is fragile. I will admit that it does feel a little soft, but then again it is just a wood ring so if you're rough with it then it will likely break. One thing about this mill I feel that people should be aware of is to avoid over tightening the nut at the top of the mill. Traditionally, you would loosening and tightening this nut to select how course or fine you want your pepper, which is what adjustable bottom is for so the nut is just there to keep the cap in place. You will want to keep this nut loose however, because over tightening it will prevent the bottom ring from turning. So if you find that the bottom ring won't turn all the way, try loosening the nut a little and you should be able to turn the ring all the way. Other than that, I feel that this is a solid pepper mill. With proper care it should last you for a while.

Good grinders, poor shipping

Shipped with absolutely no protection. Literally just tossed in an Amazon bag. They did arrive looking decent aside from some little rub marks. A little paranoid that they got bent or stressed and might not last as long as they should but I decided not to return. The product itself is a 4/5, the shipping a 1/5.

Outstanding item deserves its #1 ranking, plus superior customer service

I was excited to order this item, voted Best Peppermill on Earth pretty much, and was a wee bit disappointment that the item arrived quickly but in insufficient packaging. I voiced my concerns that the item was not properly packaged and within a few DAYS I received a replacement at my door, before I had even mailed off the original! The peppermill arrived securely packaged, and is gorgeous, with a heavy duty grinding mechanism I expect will long outlive me, and it offers excellent options to vary the size of the grind. It is of a classic, beautiful design, even the graphite colour I really like; sturdy, and altogether it lives up to that #1 ranking. I am as impressed with the item as well as the customer service in equal measure. Thank you!!! 100000% recommend item and seller (Peugeot via Amazon).

Very expensive but worth the investment. Works amazing. Has many coarseness kevels. Pepper is chunky on the highest setting which is just how I like it. Came prefilled :)

Best pepper mill I have used so far. Quality of the grinder was felt on the first use. Filling the pepper takes a little time; same as other conventional fill mechanisms. The body looks great, the grinder mechanism appears robust, and the grind size adjustment was easy. I thought at C$60 the price was on the high side but given the quality of the build, components used, and the great appearance, I have no regrets at all.

We have had many brands and they have come and ended up in garbage. This one arrived and right off was built with quality. The wood the stain is awesome. The mechanics of it is phenomenal. The variable grinds are so easy and great to set all from twist of the base and not the brutal conventional top. Will be ordering an other one for our pink salt
