Love the look; not the function

This salt shaker looks really unique, but only buy it if you like getting pepper in your food when you are only trying to get salt. Because the pepper comes out the bottom and the salt comes out the top even when you are using the peppercorn pepper some minimal residue will come off when you tip it to have the salt come out. otherwise, I think it looks great on the table and is a unique piece.

The market for salt shaker pepper grinder combos is very limited. Most are acrylic and not all that attractive vs effective. When I first received this I really didn't like it. Felt like a big hunk of square glass in my hand. Previously I owned an Oxo combo but that ended up being useless within a year. I opted for this because it's made in France and Peugeot has a good reputation. I also ordered the Peugeot Oslo combi and didn't like that. So I think I will keep this and pray this doesn't break in a year. I've had bad luck with the combination type of shaker grinders. But prefer them since it's less clutter on dining table and my husband prefers table salt to ground sea salt. Also Amazon, the packaging for this product needs to have more padding. I heard the UPS guy flung this up my stairs and heard a big clunk. When I opened it there were 2 small chipped markings so I am getting a replacement for this. The product was already in a thin plastic bag. But the Amazon bubble wrap packaging is so thin! I know it's acrylic and practically shatter proof but it did have two tiny chips on it. Poor packaging. You know those delivery guys don't care what's in those packages.

Poor shipping condition

I’ve been buying this style for decades. This latest one arrived with the top completely loose and all the peppercorns had fallen out. This item is expensive enough and now I have to buy whole peppercorns too! Not happy!

Built to last for decades

I've purchased the same grinder, except it's an inch shorter, made by Peugeot, in France back 1980s. Since then, I've been using it almost every meals, everyday, for over 30 years but it's still working as crisp as it did on the first day of use. I was so happy finding the same product in taller shape, on Amazon. I purchased it as my second pepper grinder. I compared them side by side - almost everything looks and feels the same as my old one, other than the height. I don't use the salt compartment, but I found the square shape make grinding pepper a lot easy and practical.

Peugeot Mills are the best..

I had the same Peugeot Pepper Mill which I had bought in Paris for years.. until my maid found it once empty and thought it was to be disposed... I couldn't get it over.. found it and bought it again and expect it to last for years to come..

Not recommended.

I ordered this liking the look and dual functionality of the combo salt shaker and pepper mill. I returned it because the top to the salt shaker is very flimsy and does not close well. Twice I ended up with a large amount of salt on my food because of the gap that could not be closed consistently. Perhaps I received a faulty unit, but based on my experience I would not recommend this product.

Quality Gear - worth the price

Good solid bit of kit. We have used a small version of this for 16 years and it is only now showing signs of wear. Load the base with peppercorns and the top with ground salt, or load the bottom with coarse sea salt and the top with ground pepper - whatever. The secret of getting the best out of these items is to strip and clean them at least once a year to stop them looking shabby. We were in a restaurant yesterday using the cheaper Wamber items, flashy looking but not easy to use and other diners even asked the waiter to make them work..........

Le hace falta un regulador de grosor

La calidad de los acabados es excelsa y el mecanismo del molino se siente durable (como cualquiera de los productos de la marca). Es menos cómodo que el diseño tradicional, pero no está mal. Dicho esto, si lo encuentras de oferta, es una excelente alternativa. Me gustaría ver un regulador de grosor, pero tampoco es demasiado problema y, por la sencillez de mecanismo, resulta más durable.
