The rubber ends come loose.
I am in a wheelchair and use this for picking things off the floor and getting things out of cupboards. It is great for these tasks. However, the rubber tips have separated from the frame from this and other reachers of the same brand. I tried gluing the tips back into the frame without success. I like the reacher which is why I keep buying the same brand, however, I would appreciate some advice on what glue to use to glue the tips back on to the frames.

the gripping end is a less sturdy than I hoped
The ability to turn the angle of the grip is a nice feature and the handle is a good size and easy to hold. But the gripping end is weaker than I'd like and I do not trust grabbing a heavy mug from the cabinet with this without risking dropping it.

Absolute BEST device of it's type... but not perfect.
I've had several of these over the years... they do wear out after heavy use, but I have to tell you Whether you need the longer ones or short version like this one, PIKSTIK BRAND IS THE BEST! Best because of the design. I have problems bending over, I work in a machine shop and often drop wrenches, cutting tools and other things... Pikstik won't pick up everything I drop, but at the end of the day, I have used it a hundred times and saved MUCH wear and tare on my back. And you would be surprised, depending on the shape of what you want to pick up, if you can get a deeply occlusive grip on the item, 5 to 10 pounds is not out of the question.... but then again, if the shape is such that it deters the gripping ability, you might not be able to pick up something more than 8 Oz. I have one of these (32 ") in my car, and about 4 of these (also 32") around the house, 2 (32") and a 20" one at work. These at work get the heaviest abuse and as such have to be replaced more often. I have gone through several. In the last year or two though, I have experienced several unexpected failures.... most recently my 20" broke as I was gripping a plastic tube from the floor... the cap end of the handle (closest to your thumb) broke off where the back pin that goes through the handle is... near the hanging hook. This falure rendered the pikstik completely usles since that pin holds the internal mechanism. I've had a couple crack around the neck of the handle (electrical tape patches this a bit, but it's still in a weakened state... I've had several where the cap at the bottom of the grip (near your little finger) spontaneously broke... wasn't even using the thing when they broke!... it is the design, the single screw holds the cap on but in a manner where the plastic cap is being bent while being held shut... If they tighten the screw too tight at the factory, the thing is prone to spontaneous breakage.... though the pickstik still functions pretty well after this type of part failure. Since I have been using these pikstiks for many years, and because these failures I listed in this paragraph have only been happening the last 2 years or so, I believe the plastic they have been using recently, is more brittle than what they used to use. I know this has become long and sounds like I don't like these things, but NO, I love these, they are the best product of this type I have been able to find.... others might be OK for picking up paper from your yard, but these are real work-horses by comparison.

a perfect pick stik
The 19" length is great for small distances to pick from...such as retrieving dropped item from a chair. The rotating jaws securely clamp the item . I was wheelchair bound and the usual 33" length was too awkward to readily use. Highly recommended

I love this!!!
I wanted one of these shorter ones so that I could reach items on the second shelf of my kitchen cabinets... It works perfectly for that. We picked it up on the way out for dinner. As we went down the road, I needed something off the floor in front of me. My seat belt wouldn't let me quite reach it. I had placed the reacher in the seat beside me where it fit perfectly, so I just used it to grab what I needed off the floor... How convenient. Later we needed something from the back seat. Again, I grabbed my handy little reacher and was able to retrieve what I needed, no problem So this thing works great in the car. We have a dog in the back seat and when he dropped his bone on the floor board... grab the reacher... no problem. Later I was driving myself and my phone slid out of the passenger seat and onto the floorboard. At a stop light I was able to use the reacher to retrieve it. This is so handy in the house when you don't want to deal with those yard long grabbers. This is a fairly strong grabber. And because of it's short length, you can pick up heavier items without it buckling or bending in the middle and you can reach to get them off of the end without being a yard away to do it. It also has a little eye hook opening and I was able to hang it just outside the kitchen on a hook that was already there... perfect. My husband has tried to sneak off with it, but I get it back every single time. He finally agreed we should just order "him" another one. I'm not only going to do that, I want one for the car too... that was just too handy. We're always wanting something from tee floorboard in the front or the back.

Great
Got a new washing machine and found out I can't reach the bottom...I'm only 5 '! This does what I need. Although I can only get a couple of items at a time. But I'm happy with it.

Short and durable.
I am 100% disabled vet and this product is great for me around the house and in the car. There are many times I drop something and cannot reach it with help from someone. This product changed that for me. It's so good I have purchased another one.

Only one point of contact
I would have returned this item but unfortunately my husband recycled the box before I could. My problem with this reacher/grabber is that it has points that stick out on each "head" that don't allow contact across the whole surface. These points are not enough to hold anything. Since I couldn't return it, we decided ti cut the points off to make it usable and that is what shows in my picture. It at least works now but still not that great. May have to re-engineer more.
