Buy this, not Festool's.

I always wanted Festool's 80mm X 130mm Hand Sanding Block. However, its price is so elevated and does not have any real value added. So I could never willfully decide to spend that much for such a simple item. Powertech's sander, however, is pricing their hand sander at a great price. The sander is simple, takes on Festool's sandpaper, has an excellent dust connector and hole pattern, fits comfortably in the palm of my hand, and has a reasonable price. It's great! The only thing I wish is that it did not come with a sandpaper sampler kit, simply because I already have preferences for that of other brands and am not interested in this free kit –yet I still have to deal with it. All in all, great sander. Fully recommended.

Doesn’t hold the sandpaper in place

I was like so excited when I got these and they are really sturdy, but it doesn’t matter how I position sandpaper it just doesn’t work. The sandpaper slides around no matter how many different techniques I use to hold it. how unfortunate because it is very sturdy, but it just doesn’t work, if they had Velcro attachments on the inside, they would be great .

Misleading/incorrect product description, no "hook and loop" on the sanding block.

The product title is listed as having a "hook and loop" component to allow for 5-inch round sanding discs to be easily attached for use. See the first photograph on the product page. However, there is no hook or loop attachment on the sanding block, so the sandpaper does not attach as shown. I contacted Amazon, they said Powertec was responsible, as they were the manufacturer. When contacting Powertec, they said Amazon is responsible as they were the listed seller. Okay, so I ordered a replacement, thinking I would get a sanding block as described in the title. No, same thing showed up again, no hook or loop system. I added Velcro strips to the one I kept to hold the sandpaper, and it works as implied on the sales page. This misinformation should be clarified, either change the product title or include the hook and loop system to attach the sandpaper.

Not strong

The material is like foam. It doesn't provide a strong or rigid grip to sand effectively. Very weak.

Exactly what I hoped for

These are just the ticket for the job I was doing, and some more since. Quality seems good, they are holding their form and the material is flexible enough to not do damage. The flat pads are surprisingly useful as well, give nice soft edges to pieces. Highly recommend.
