Unfortunately, the Wrong Purchase ... for me
I purchased this dish rack because it just doesn't seem worth waiting until I have enough dirty dishes to run the dish washer. I have never been one to put dishes into a dish washer that are dirty, such as remaining remnants of food. Since I practically wash the dishes anyway, and am only cooking for two, why not just add a little soap and just get the job done? It is not very attractive, but I opted for this collapsible dish rack in case I tired of washing dishes vs. using the dish washer. This collapses into a size easily stored... or to put out of sight for a few hours. Overall this dish rack is a headache to use. I have found the rack is not glass friendly. But what bothers me most is the lousy setup for flatware. No matter how careful you are, the forks and spoons slide down and out of the utensil area. The designers did not provide an adequate restraint to keep flatware in place. The only flatware I don't have much trouble with are knives and tall ice tea spoons... things that are tall enough to take hold. What good is a dish rack if you can't load it up? Well, you can load this one up ... if you don't care about your glasses breaking! ... because if just on plate leans in the opposite direction they will all crash over are knock everything out of alignment. That being said, and why I gave it three stars, is because this is a good dish rack for pots and pans... so I will keep it for that. While cooking I have always tried to clean as I go... so the final clean up after cooking is not such a chore. Just unsnap the lousy flatware slots first! I personally have never understood why people want to put pots and pans in the dishwasher... it is just so much easier to hand wash them. I have also found this dish rack (or any dish rack) handy when I have a hot dripping lid that I need to temporarily put down. It is much easier to place it in the rack and let it drain until it needs to be put back on the pot. Another issue that I didn't think about... but being plastic it is prone to attracting dust. This is easily taken care of since I frequently wash it anyway. Why put clean dishes in anything that is not as clean as the dishes?

Excellent design and versatility!
My husband and I love this dish rack. We had been searching for a dish rack that fit our needs (small house, small kitchen, limited counter and storage space) for quite a while and hadn't found anything that would work for us. One evening, after my husband requested a dish rack for his birthday present (yes, seriously) and I was having an awful time trying to find one, I had the random thought, "Why don't they make a collapsible dish rack?" Lo and behold, they do! This particular collapsible dish rack was chosen for several reasons over the other options. One: the option to have it either drain into the sink (like a traditional dish rack) or flip the base over so it would drain into the base. I wasn't sure whether we had the counter space next to the sink to have it drain into the sink or if it would overlap the sink and spill all over the floor. I made the right choice there, it would have spilled all over the floor without the option to drain into the base. Two: removable silverware rack. We do have a dishwasher, so this rack was meant for the handwash-only items and/or dishes that wouldn't fit in the dishwasher. Sometimes we don't have dirty handwash silverware and the extra space removing the silverware holder gives more room for the other things. Three: the space it takes up while folded. We wanted something small enough to tuck on top of our cabinets that wouldn't stick out over the top. This folds up (with base) to roughly 1.5 inches. Another pro I hadn't considered before purchasing is that when we need to move it because we need the counter it's sitting on and the dishes aren't dry enough to put away, we can simply pick it up and move it to another counter or the table (heck, I've even put it on top of the clothes washer before) without worrying about all the water spilling on the floor. Excellent design and versatility!

The best dish drainer I ever had!
I bought this in Aug. of 2011. Seemed like it would be nice to be able to put the ugly dish drainer under the sink when not in use. I never did put it under the sink; It looks just fine where it is on the counter. Today, as I was washing dishes, and admiring the dish drainer, I decided it's past time I should tell people how great this is! It is so easy to clean: Just rinse it off under the faucet every once in a while. (Everything is easy to get to, on rare occasions when you do need to scrub it.) No more trying to get mold specks out of tiny places. Had this for almost 5 years, and never a speck of mold formed! Water drains out [from the little lip in front of the bottom] right into the sink (or flip the bottom tray over to collect the water). There are just two of us, so the glasses are not usually a problem for us. We had no problem with utensils until we bought a new set to use for company. They are shorter, and do sometimes fall over. We bought a Dish Drying Mat for the rare occasions when we need extra drying space. It works better for glasses than ANY drainer does. (search amazon for "The OriginalTM Dish Drying Mat Microfiber Absorbent Machine Washable Fast Drying 16"x18" Multipurpose") This combination works great for us: What a difference the right "tools" can make!

Huge space saver
Love this! It is perfect for apartment living where you have limited counter space. Holds a lot of dishes and cutlery. My only complaint is that the cutlery doesn't stand up too well but it is not a big deal and it is still worth it!

Practical space saver
Space saving and good for camping. Needs to be put into something as it has multiple parts that don't stay together.
