I absolutely LOVE these tights, they fit wonderfully, they are VERY comfortable and though not heavyweight they have a nice, "solid" feel to them. The material is very, very "stretchy," very soft and very smooth. The lower, more opaque part of the tights that covers the legs from mid-thigh down is also pretty durable, and this darker part of my tights never got any runs or rips in them. The problem, predictably, is with the more transparent part of the tights where the "thigh-highs" end and the "garters" run up the upper thigh to the "panty" part of the tights. This part of the tights is VERY delicate and though I was very careful with them mine got a run in them the very first time I put them on. It was small and I immediately put some clear nail polish on it and was able to wear the tights about 10-12 times before the run finally grew too large to be camoflaged or wear comfortably. I deliberately bought my tights one size larger than I normally would, because upon reading the reviews I noticed that a lot of people were saying how their tights ran/ripped in the more translucent area above mid-thigh the very first time they wore them or put them on. I thought that if I bought them a bit larger they would be easier to get into but still fit well enough to look nice without bunching up anywhere or getting all thick around the ankles and I was right about that. My mistake (and I suspect the mistake many others have made the first time they wiggled into a pair of these tights) is that I tried to pull them up over my butt while gripping the more see-through (and more delicate) upper portion of the tights. This is a natural thing to do, I basically had the tights all the way on at that point, I was just trying to get the crotch part pulled up more comfortably and before making sure the "butt seam" was laying over my crack as it should and not to one side or another (cause when that happens it makes me feel like my behind is on sideways or something and it is uncomfortable and looks weird) garters were straight up & down and not all "s" shaped or otherwise goofy-looking. But, alas, simply gripping the upper, more transparent, more delicate part of these tights to do the final wiggle into them was enough to put a run in them. I truly think they would have been fine and would not have ripped that first time putting them on if I had simply slowed my roll and found a different way of making those final adjustments without gripping or tugging on the more delicate upper portion of the tights. The thing I did right was to buy them a little bigger than strictly necessary, had I tried to wiggle into these tights that were a size or two smaller I'm certain I'd have put way more than one small run in them the first time I put them on. So, with my next pair I will still buy them a size bigger than what I normally wear AND I will also be very, very careful NOT to grip or tug on the upper, more see-thru part of the tights. All in all I love them, they are SO CUTE and I have gotten SO MANY compliments on them from all sorts of people, not just horny perverts who were motivated to actually comment instead of simply stand there and silently ogle. I don't wear these with short skirts, (although I certainly could and it would look awesome) I love skirts/dresses with asymmetrical hemlines and wear them quite a bit. That style of skirt/dress is very flattering to my full thighs and hips and when worn with these tights the upper "garter" part of the tights peeks out and is partially/intermittently visible, which is very "flirty" without being overtly sexual or suggestive. (Not to anyone but horny pervert guys anyway and these guys, you know the ones I mean, could find a sexual reference in an empty paper bag so whatever a woman wears or doesn't wear it doesn't matter, these a**hats will ALWAYS have something icky and/or stupid to say about it. Pepper spray.) I love them and would buy them again. I am giving 3 stars because I feel like the manufacturer and the sellers MUST be aware of the issues with rips/runs in the upper part of these tights. Had I been adequately warned to use extreme care when putting these tights on and/or handling the upper, more fragile portion of them, I think I might have been able to get a lot more wear out of them and probably would not have put a run in them the very first time I put them on. There is nothing wrong with the tights themselves, they are gorgeous and well made and have a definite feel of quality to them. The fault, I feel, lies with the lack of warning/instruction to the consumer regarding proper care and handling of the tights. I received my tights very quickly, a day or two before the delivery estimate provided by the seller, and they were appropriately packaged and in new, absolutely perfect condition. The seller did an EXCELLENT job of getting them to me quickly, inexpensively and in great shape and I would not hesitate to buy from them again. TLDR: great, comfortable, very pretty tights, just be REALLY CAREFUL putting them on.
