Much less expensive than same item at home supply store, equally sturdy

I needed hooks to hang things from floor joists in a basement and other unfinished areas. They are as strong as the equivalent diameter from a home supply store, but the price of hardware at such stores has doubled or tripled in the last few years. Get these.

These are pretty good for what they are!

And for some reason, this kind of small specialty item (I used them to hang a Rube Goldberg clothes bar for one of my tenants) ...is seemingly harder an harder to find at the big boxes and the local (smallish or larger) hardware stores are charging MUCH higher prices since Covid so these, all things considered, seemed a bargain! They were the exact size and style I was looking for (as per item description, which in itself is also a much harder and rare thing to find on any website) and they did the job nicely! My only problem is that I needed two and they only sold them in quantities of eight. Well, hooks that self tap into wood are usually a fairly useful item, especially around a 120 year old brownstone! I do hope this review was HELPFUL?

used these 3/8" screw hooks for supporting a hammock between trees and note that when I lowered myself on hammock the screw hooks bent from my 185 lb weight. I would have expected that the steel used in manufacture should easily have been able to support my weight without bending. But they were inexpensive and I got what I paid for.
