Lights up!!

This light fixture looks very nice on my front porch. Only time will tell as to whether it’ll hold up due to it’s thin & lite construction. The last light fixture I had (like this one), lasted only a couple of years…then broke apart from dry-rot. And since bugs in the south can really build up in a light fixture, I don’t mind replacing it with a new one every couple of years…just sayin’.

Decent price, well made. I sealed the frame to the sides with silicone to keep bugs out. No issues with installation.

Looks Cheap, but it is Just Right

The size is larger than I expected, but the dimensions were there, so this is my fault. This looks better in pictures than live--it looks cheap. The fixture that this will replace looks cheaper. My front porch is large, so the size is no issue. I had to re-seat the diffuser upon arrival. I use only CFL bulbs, or LED; this, will have an LED bulb when I install it. I like the decorative edging at the top more than I like the scalloped edge on similar models. Overall, I like this fixture, the price was very reasonable because it is not fancy shmancy like some fixtures; I didn't want a fancy one anyway.

Just what was advertised

Like all progress Lighting ceiling fixtures, I was worried about heat venting - their products (plastic or glass) lack vent holes, so they get quite hot inside - immediately burning up the UL label and scorching any paper off the fiberglass insulation that is installed onthe "up" face, so I drilled air vent holes. Should be fine with CFL or LED bulbs, but I would not use incandescent bulbs of over 40 watts in their fixtures without venting, even though rated for 60 W. Otherwise as advertised - I would not recommend the plastic models on general appearance basis, but this was for installation in a low headroom reading loft where a kid could hit their head against it, so plastic rather than metal and glass was the only way to go, and this is the lowest-profile 2- bulb plastic fixture I could find.

Modern fixture at a reasonable price.

Replaced a 29 year old porch fixture with no modification necessary. Easy to install.

Received two incorrect order so I returned them and canceled the order

I ordered 5 Progress Lighting P5745-31. The first order I received there was 5 P5744-31's so I returned the order. The second order I received there was 3 P5744-31's and 2 P5745-31's so I returned the complete order and requested a refund.
