Drip Irrigation Project!
This review is for a variety of products all in one. This spring (2013) my wife and I put in 2 4'x20' raised bed gardens in the back yard for growing flowers and veggies. We live in Tennessee and the middle of the summer is hot and dry. I wanted a way to keep the plants watered and decided to convert a "spray zone" of our irrigation system to drip. I set up the garden with short rows that run the width of the boxes. I designed the garden with lots of short rows that run the 4' width of the boxes. Imagine a railroad track. The rails are the "feeder lines" that run the length of my setup, and the drip lines are the railroad ties that cut across the width of the garden (parallel with the rows of plants). I needed "feeder line" to bring the water to the drippers, and a variety of connectors to put it all together. I planned it all out on paper first, and then made sure I purchased enough parts. I purchased the following products for my setup: Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Emitter Tubing With 18-Inch Spacing - 100-Foot Roll (5 stars) Rain Bird BT50-4PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Barbed Tees, 4 Pack (5 stars) Rain Bird BE50-4PK 1/2-Inch Barbed Elbows (5 stars) Rain Bird EC50-Rain Bird GS50-10PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch Galvanized Wire Secures, 10-Pack (4 stars) 2PK Landscape Dripline System 1/2-Inch End Closure Fittings (5 stars) Rain Bird Landscape Dripline System Spray Head To Drip Connection Kit (5 stars) Rain Bird T63100-BULK 1/2-Inch 100-Feet Landscape Dripline System Blank Tubing Roll (5 stars) These parts were all high quality, and I am extremely pleased with the setup. I cut all the tubing to size and layed it all out prior to putting it all together. It is very difficult to fit the tubing over the barbs, but once on it stays in place and doesn't leak. My hands ached after putting a bunch of the tubing together, so I ended up using leather work gloves which made things go a lot better. A few things to note: 1) I don't have a rainbird setup, and this kit fit in great with my existing irrigation system. 2) The tubing is a bit stiff and can kink easily, but works very well, so be careful when connecting things. 3) The tubing and barbs are not the same inner diameter as stuff you can get at plumbing supply or home improvement centers. That means you can't mix and match, which is ok with me. 4) I used some teflon plumbers tape when attaching parts that screw in.

Problem solved!
We moved into our house about 11 years ago and have an extensive sprinkler system that covers the 13 (5 in the back yard, 4 in the side yard, 4 near the front entrance) pots in our yard. Over time, the wire stakes that hold down the hoses rusted and fell apart. It drove me nuts because the hoses would pop up between the flowers and detracted from the beauty of the colorful flowers. I looked everywhere (hardware stores, gardening stores) and couldn't find a solution - and then I checked Amazon and voila! Problem solved and I have some extras for the future! Thanks much!!

Didn't get the ones with the bend
Great metal hose stakes, but are not the same as the pictures. These do not have a bend/notch in the stake legs as depicted. This would have given better retention in the soil. Overall not bad, but not like the picture.

Great product
I read reviews on this product before purchasing and my main concern prior to ordering was their being expensive and quality for the price. I only needed 20 of these to secure some irrigation system soaker hoses further into the ground where a few had popped up so I took a chance and ordered 2 packages. I will say they worked VERY well for my use. The material is steel and very strong. I was able to use a hammer to sink these into the ground without any dents or compression to the wire. The spacing is perfect to fit the hoses inside, not too snug or large. The notch seems to help hold these into the ground, especially in areas where the hose is near the surface because of some nearby tree roots and areas where the hoses were placed in a tight arc around a bush or plant. Overall, I would purchase these again and would highly recommend.

These are overpriced IMO, but they work extremely well. I tried regular garden staples for landscape cloth and they pull up too easily. That little bump that these have toward the bottom of the spike makes all the difference in the world with keeping your drip irrigation line down. They save you a lot of headache down the line compared to other options out there. Easily 5 stars if they were 25%+ less expensive (let's say, $5/pack or less).

Keeps my house from flying away...
These hold my greenhouse in place and the wind doesn't carry it away. Not my actual house, wouldn't that be something. Their actually very sturdy and nicer than some of the other stacks or loops you will find in stores. They look sturdy and rust resistant. I have a pretty wet backyard and these seem to be holding up well. Only downside is they are a bit on the expensive side.

Perfect for pegging roses!
These are perfect for pegging roses! They are a good, heavy metal and are galvanized so they won't rust. They are also long enough to go deeply into the ground to hold the end of a rose branch. Pegging allows me to take the long, laterally growing branches from a rose that is a climber and be looped, bring the long loops over to meet the plant itself. This causes more roses to bloom and it helps contain the plant to a smaller size. Eventually this rose will climb up higher into a tree's branches (I planned it that way) but right now this keeps the long, lateral branches from growing out to the street. And I'll get more roses! Thanks, Amazon, for making it easier for me to find the things I need.

Not as pictured..
Yes, others made this comment. I didn't believe them but it is true. Only gave a two star so people will read this. I would have given a negative one if it was an option. Product imaged on AMAZON and on the packaging have "ridges" that absolutely do grip the ground better than the much less expensive straight leg "staples". I am willing to pay extra, a lot extra for these "ridges", they work that well. This seller is selling something.. no ridges.. just like the much less expensive "staples" for the more expensive "ridges" price. Returned and went to the local home improvement store which had Rain-Bird "ridges"..

Stays put without rusting
These came with my rainbird irrigation kit and I bought more because they were good quality. Stays put in the ground without rusting, good for anchoring mesh netting, hoses and tubes.

Works as intended
I got these for a drip irrigation project but also find them handy for holding down landscaping cloth. Easy to insert without a hammer. Bend if hammered.

Not as pictured
These stakes do not have the kink in them as pictured. They are straight u-bend staples.
