Installed by professional plumber…
So I cannot judge how easy it is to install it. But I’m in many cases is a DIYer and this is not a DIY project. But it was installed and works as it should.

Delta Faucets
Great product but if you are buying it from Amazon it could be a used item with missing parts. Hard plumbing work schedule plumbers shows up going through the process and what happens! Missing parts. Additional cost for having to track down parts 300 extra for missing parts. After all was said and done faucet looks amazing and works perfectly fine.

Nice feature set
This is just a basic rough-in for several Delta trims. For Delta (and most other companies) you need to choose your preferred trim and then buy the mating rough-in. The R4707 does have some nice features. First, it can be mounted in a thin deck. Some brands require a thick deck or thick tile layer. That thick deck requirement is often hidden so you can get a nasty surprise if you buy those faucets. This rough-in uses top accessed clamping screws which are very easy and effective to use. It includes test caps so that the plumbing can be pressure tested during the installation phase before all the trim is in place. The solder together design of the R4704 makes non-traditional mounting arrangements practical. Although the valves and tub filler are traditionally mounted in a line, it is easy to mount the tub filler farther away with no real restriction on distance. The ability to do a non-traditional mounting arrangement was a requirement for my tub. The downside is that solder assembly takes more time than just attaching a couple of flexible lines. The instructions do have a couple of mistakes, one critical, that you need to know about and adjust for. The critical mistake is that the instructions ask for all mounting holes to be drilled in a line. However the hand shower base has its mounting assembly offset from the trim. Therefore it needs its mounting hole offset so that the trim will align with the other parts. The other issue is the minimum separation needed for the valves. The instructions recommend at least 4 inches. However, the valves turn 180 degrees. For the Arzo trim I used, the valve spacing needs to be at least 4.5 inches from the tub filler to prevent the handles from hitting when installed in the traditional arrangement. (Other trims might be different.) For non-traditional arrangements where two values are adjacent, the minimum space is about 7 inches.

It is not easy to install, but it is a good product
It is a good product. I think it is a bit expensive. It is not easy to install.

Easy install!
Tell your installer to READ the directions first BEFORE complaining to Delta the valve doesn’t fit! There is a large, protective, metal cap over the center valve that is anchored in place by a small screw. It needs to be removed. Otherwise no complaints!!!!

The quality is there and I'm happy with the rough-in
The quality is there and I'm happy with the rough-in, which has the ability to be installed on a finished surface or on a subsurface to be tiled later. I wish to add a few helpful points left out of the manual. 1. The rough-in has a receptacle for the hand shower called the "nest" which is like a washer that can be aligned to a fixed position on the brass body. When I received mine, this black plastic part was loose and I couldn't see how this part would be affixed to the counter when finished - it requires being twisted onto the brass body. 2. If you're doing the thick-tile install and you existing copper plumbing is in a fixed position, its best to wait until the tile is installed before soldering. This is because the height of the copper stubs will be lowered substantially after the tile is installed and the rough-in's jack screws push the valves and assembly down to meet the level of the tile. If you soldered prior to this step, all you plumbing will move down - mine did over 2". Lastly, Trust the instructions. It all turned out perfectly for me despite some initial head scratching. Good solid brass quality.

Good product. Like the tighten screws by the top.
Good product. If your an handyman it's not to much trouble. Yes you need to solder it. It says it can work between 8 an 16 inches, center handle to handle. Mine was 8 inches, so I struggled a lot, I did not bend the flexible cup pipe, but near... So I'm not recommending this product if you handles hole is less then 10 inches (center handle to handle). Yes It does take more room then some other products, because it have longer pipe; but for me it was helping because I had to solder under the bath, so longer pipe mean easy access, more access then just beneath the bath. Instruction was not that bad, could be better, but for me it was ok. I liked the tighten screws by the top, instead trying to tighten some nut under the bath.

Good flow. Sweat pipes not necessary.
This is good quality gear. Should have bought it the first time. Eurostream does not cut it.

Great Product Horrible Instructions
These valves are very good quality as you would expect from Delta but you do need a fair amount of clearance below for the pipes. Do not attempt to shorten them! I repeat do not attempt do cut the hard lines on the valves because they are a much thinner copper than your standard 1/2" pipe and will kink. The installation instructions are also poor and unclear so pay attention. Both tub valves ship in the open position so if you install them and don't immediately install your trim kit you will need to close the valves in order to avoid cross flow. Also you need a 1 1/2" in the deck to pass these valves through and that is tight. I also found the flanges on the back side of the valves to be much larger than what I was replacing which meant some extra cutting of the wooden tub surround.
