Not 100% sold on these.

I am a retail merchandizer and have to have these boots for work. Years ago i sold cars and had a pair of Rockport loafers and they were the best pair I've ever had so when i got this job i immediately thought of Rockport. I purchased these boots in Dec last year and they were amazing up until about June they were comfortable, not too heavy, stay tied, dry and warm they were perfect! Then in or around the first part of June i started getting hot, ichty, red rash on the tops of both of my feet, it was pretty uncomfortable. I thought maybe it was the glue or something in the leather maybe bothering me so I tried putting a liner between my sock and the boot top and it helped just a little but not really. It may jsut be due to the weather getting hotter and overheating my feet, i will try again when it gets cold and update my review. Ok so it’s been a while so hear is my update. When the weather cooled they were better so I think it was my feet getting way too hot. I gave them to a gal I know and she LOVES them.

May bite into your ankles...

Bought these boots a couple weeks ago, and as I rated them, they're just okay. They are light weight, which is nice. But for some reason, they're biting into the side of my ankles. I'm still trying to break them in, and they're getting a little bit better. But I think they did something wrong in either the manufacturing or the design. The first day or so, they really hurt. Now, they're just annoying. But it's on both ankles, so it's not just a quality problem with one boot. The pain occurs right where there is a vertical piece of leather on the inside that stops just above the ankle. Because the thickness of the leather changes there, the thicker leather pushes against my foot. For now, I'll wear thicker socks with them, which seems to help. But that can get a little hot. Wish I'd bought a different pair...

Comfortable

These boots have more toe room then any other I have tried in my 25 years of wearing work boots daily. Their major downfall is I’ve never had a pair last more then a year. The stitching rips. I have continued buying them every year for the past five years because I’m willing to pay for the comfort. If they lasted more then a year they’d be 5 stars. * I do take the insole out and put in orthaheel insoles into all my shoes because I have foot problems.

This is the second pair of these exact boots my husband has gotten. He loves the fit and support. He is *rough* on his work boots, and these lasted about two years after changing out the insole at some point because he had walked them down. One note on Rockport in general, they tend to fit a bit small and sizing up a half size from what you normally wear is suggested.

What the actual f?

I'm going to be as fair as I can be here. These are comfortable boots. Right out of the box comfortable. The company I work for has a program where they cover 50% of the cost of 2 pairs of safety boots a year. So I go to HR to submit my receipt and she asks to look at the boots. "Where are all the certification tags?", she asks. "You know, the safety standards tags that real safety boots must have on them as a clear display of compliance?" Well honestly I hadn't even thought that these boots, which I found while searching for "safety boots with metatarsal protection protection", might be anything but legitimate CSA certified etc boots. So yes I guess they will be comfortable to wear around my yard but don't try to wear them to any workplace that requires real authentic certified safety footwear. This ain't it.

Finally a boot that fits!

I have wide feet. Typically 4e in shoes. This is the first work boot I have found that has a wide enough toebox! Comfortable and light. I love this boot. Durability is decent. Not top end but at 100$ I can’t complain. Boots lasted a year, though I walk on average 8km a day on pavement and loose stone. So 40km a week for a year. Pretty decent.

Not made with customers comfort in mind

More crap shoes poor fit poor quality, on par with all the other cheap crappy shoes on the market today. By the time I got to try the shoes for fit was past the return date.
